Changing the Dates
Hey Gang, i've just spoken with the BLM and they are suggesting we move our dates back a few weeks to be further from the rainy season. This would
not happen this year of course, but i would like to open the topic for discussion and see what the rest of you think.
Feedback, discussion, is good, so if you have an opinion, we would surely like to hear it.
Thanks and aoxomoxoa~!

If we look at the past 3 yrs the playa would be flooded if we did it earlier.Remember last yr it was a freakin lake till the week before. I say we
consult with Cory on this one or use this link to study http://www.usgs.gov/state/state.asp?State=NV We are dealing with mother nature and nevada is a gambling state. I say we stay were we are at. Do
the land sailors want the change too? are we still splitting expense with them? I just want to buggy!!!.........aj

I haven't spoken to Kent lately, but no, this is something Dave Roan came up with at BLM.
It's just a thought, and i'd like to know what others think.
Also, it would be to move the dates back, that is later not sooner.

re: Changing the Dates
I would be all for a change to a little later in April, rather than the March/April cusp that we've been doing. Even going to the end of April would
be okay by me; the warmer and drier, the better.
Of course, we could always just extend the Elmer's/Superior portion of the trip... who needs races, a tent, and a shower? Oops, that's right...
Tuesday night's always the first shower after 4 days at Elmer's/Superior. Okay, so YOU guys need us to get to Ivanpah by Tuesday night, so you don't
have to smell me and the other "car campers" no more! (Now, you know why I always park at the eastern edge of camp at Ivanpah... downwind from
everybody!)
Anyhoo, flexible is a good thing, and I'll accomodate the group's decision.

Good Idea
Hi Dean:
Moving the dates back to the middle of April I think is a good Idea. Perhaps the week of April 10th. So we would start on Tuesday the 11th. This gives
us a two week cushion just in case the lakes are still wet. Good call Dean.

The weather in Primm around April is very much a "craps shoot". In my experience around April 10th would be good. But I think Corey or Zang would be
the best people to consult on that.
Who has an Almanac to reference? Not like we have had real consistent weather, but it is a start.

Hey Gang,
Moving the date to mid-April has good and bad points.
On the good side: Better chance at better weather, but the desert is a magical place and that might not be the case.
Brings up the bad point...
If we move the dates for 2007 and it rains, how will that affect our future?
Keeping expenses low by sharing the trash bin and port-o-sans and tent with NALSA has been a real boon.
Have they been contacted by the BLM as well?
What do they think?
Interesting idea.
I look forward to more discussion.

OK guys............. make up your mind..........what is it Mr. Jack......... oui......non
There are people in the rest of the world who do need to make plane
reservation long enough in advance in order to get the best deal possible.
If you do need/feel more comfortable to move those dates...........then let's
move those dates, this post is now 2 months old and no decision has been
taken.
NABX Organizers ..................... it's your decision, make it official. :piggy:

How much more would each person have to pay to attend the event if we were to move the event and not share the expenses of the tent, dumpster and
port-o-pots with the land sailors.
