Leash to bar question

Why does Ozone suggest hooking the leash to the e-brake and not the metal ring in the chicken loop? What are the draw backs of hooking it to the little metal ring in the chicken loop?

You're talking about the Ozone Turbo bar for the fixed bridles?
IIRC the little metal ring is just a little metal ring - it'd be like riding suicide ... attaching to the e-brake makes it work like a safety if you unhook and drop the bar or pull the CL safety - brakes are pulled, kite is choked ...!

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

I am confused as to which end of the leash you are considering attaching to the CL.
If one end of the leash is attached to you and the other to the CL, this is a very bad idea. This way if you were to pull the CL release, you would be attached to a powered up kite as you leash would be attached to your power lines not the brakes,
If one end is attached to the brake lines and the other attached to the CL, when you pull the CL release your kite just flies away.
I thought the idea with the Megatron CL was that you do not need a leash. Primary, the red hat in picture 8, releases the power lines from the sheeting strap and the secondary, red hat on CL, safety releases the CL which completely jettisons the kite.

I'm just confused as to what situation one would hook up to the metal ring in the CL.

attaching your safety to the e brake is not always a good idea. if you ride suicide (connecting only to the chicken loop) you dont get dropped from height when you loose the bar.

just a quick note to explain how suicide works. to fly unhhoked you first fully depower your kite, then you pull your bar in fully to unhook it from your harness, so when you loose your bar, the kite returns to a fully depowered state as the bar travels back to the top. but if you are 10 ft up in the air at the time you still get some float as the kite is still flying and not released to safety.
