Peter Lynn 07 bar sizes

I need to start shopping for a second bar for my Scorps. I have a Peter Lynn 07 bar and I'm inclined to get another. What I am unsure on is the size to get. Heck, I'm unclear even what sizes exist.

The 07 bar I have today today measures 61.5cm from steering line to steering line. What "size" is that?

The Scorps I own are 10m and a 16m. My next Arc will likely be a 12m or 13m. What size bar would you buy next?

Philip

I fly: Charger II 6.5m * Charger II 8m * Charger II 10m * Scorpion 10 (for sale) * Phantom II 12m * F-Arc 1200 * Venom 13m

I ride: Peter Lynn XR+ on Midis * Flexifoil Midi/Barrow * Peter Lynn Comp on Barrows * Peter Lynn XR+ (needs a fork)

I build: Custom bars for buggy pilots

go with a 50cm bar if you get a 12 or 16m. that's a good size for them. any bigger the kite could possibly turn dangerously fast. Any smaller the kite may turn a little too slow.

pbc - that'd be a 60cm bar IIRC. Those are all I've owned for my kites but then I usually fly the bigger ones only anyway! Oh but you're in a buggy? Go for the 50 ...

The Nav Large is 55 or 65cm ... so M would be the ticket.

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

go with the 60... longer is better. you can adjust your technique if the bar is too long. if it's too short, all you can do is whine.

12 or 13m, go with the 50cm.

Thus far the 60cm works OK for both the 16 and the 10. It's just the bar is so damn big it bumps into things on the buggy sometimes. Smaller would be better for the buggy if smaller worked well for the kite sizes I'm using.

I need a second one anyhow so I may as well get one appropriately sized.

If you have the 60 now, it makes sense to get a 50 or so for a second bar. I fly my 15m and up arcs with my 60cm 07 bar. I have a 55 North bar that came with my phantom that I flew it with before getting the 07. We've even flown Angus' 18m Phantom on the 55 and it did pretty well even in light winds. I also have an 07 bar that is about 40 cm for the 8m Venom II, which is fine for those little kites but nothing bigger. I use my 55 North with my 10m synergy and its perfect. I'm not sure the 2 inch shorter bar is really going to get out of your way in the buggy though.

My suspicion as well, but it's worth a try. I have succumbed to the power of the D`Arc side. I have no choice but to use the bar whatever it's length.
