Hi guys, I've just recently started getting back into kiting from when I was a kid (stunt kites mainly), I've bought a 4m HQ Beamer, but I feel as
though I've already out grown it. My friend (who got me back into it) has an 8m inflatable leading edge, I was wondering whether I could get a
harnessed foil kite (my beamer is killing my arms!!), or will I just have to just get an inflatable...?
if it is possible, does anyone have any recommendations? I'll be using it for my ATB mainly looking to get some air with it eventually...
Had a quick browse at the flysurfer, its a little out of my price rage (infact way!! out of it...) I'm looking around the £200 mark £250 at a push....
I'm only poor lol
Yep, harness and strop for the Beamer - or you can put it on a turbo bar. Beamers fly well on the turbo bar (not all kites do, they have to like
being steered mainly on the brakes). I would imagine the 4m Beamer will have about the same power as a 7m Depower kite (but you'll be able to fly the
depower in a wider wind range). If you've got good control over the 4m Beamer and are looking for something with more zip and ooomph (highly
technical terms) maybe something like a 5/6m mid aspect kite - crossfire/core/reactor/method/century 2/blade 4.9 etc.
Here's some vid of a day out with the Beamer 4m and turbo bar (and a short swap to a 3m Flow)
Looking like the strop's going to be the best solution for now guys, thanks a lot! I think I'm only moaning about the kite I've got at the minute
because it's not as big as my friends! lol that quick release strop looks cool, I'll have to try it out!
When I do eventually look for another kite, what size would anyone recommend? I'm about 150lbs and kite mainly at the beach (not sure about av wind
speeds)... I want something for height as well as speed.... lol and CHEAP! haha
a peter lynn arc is what you prob want... you can pick them up used pretty cheaply... i got all four of mine pretty cheap...
believe it or not, that is a really good price on a quiver of kites... also, for an ATB, they i must say that with everything i have tried i like them
the best...
easy, predictable power and very versatile...
you should be able to find one for 200 quid with a little patience

I'd avoid the whole fixes bridal and board combo, IMHO. Just start on a cheap depower. Thatll be what you will move to anyway
I've got a 5m Montana that's a great sarter kite for the landboard. It's a depower, so it'll hook right onto a harness. U2u me if interested. Also
have an ak103 which is a perfect starter board if interested.
