Yes and liberal amounts of buggy lubrication on the dry lake must be supplied.
Okay, I can do a write up on creating an animated gif in photoshop if you want and email you or post in a new topic - or just do a search online for
creating animated gif s and there will undoubtedly be numerous tutorials using different programs.

True. But the kites from PL since the phantom have shifted away from land use. Guess it is hard for me to imagine that that marketing change would
reverse itself.

One would think if they are going to offer 2 kites that they should be differentiated. No need to go to the trouble to create 2 high strung water
kites. The vids of the protos show that they are very fast. I don't mind a responsive kite and like to whip the kite around, but I like to cruise
when there is enough wind to not have to create power with loops and sines.

Well, maybe that's your thought but things are looking well in the PLP House.
There will be 2 twinskin models, one for land and one for water.
We know the demand is there. Haven't you been watching Chris's videos notice anything?

+1 for land use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry guys if you havnt noticed on the Peter Lynn website about 75% of the team riders are land based. There's no
way they are gonna shift away from that. At HQ they hear that everybody is looking forward to the phannyII, so just hang in there a bit longer!

Geokite, we'll meet at NABX (6m Ch for the french dude) and you are more than welcome to give the proto's a go.
Timeline for the Phantom II? (going out on a limb here!) 4th quarter 2011.
Lots of stuff going on at PLHQ at the mo. (tubekite(s?) and some other stuff we keep under the hat for now )
And as Flyjump mentioned, we won't sway away from landkites, not by a long shot.
Good winds.

I got a taste fly of Chris' 12 in light winds at the Crossing that he hit 70 on. Sweet kite. Never flew a 12 phantom but didn't feel like a phantom to
me! Made me want one though. You hardcore phantom guys should try them out at NABX and see what you think. I'd like one in the biggest size they'll
come in! As much as everyone would like it called a phantom 2 I think its different enough to be its own kite but maybe the phantom veterans that fly
it will think differently.

That's awesome that its out of the closet now. This could be the only kite I need at Ivanpah. 6, 9, and 12 would cover it all. Any thoughts on the
best bar configuration for it? I wonder if the Y line on the navigator bar is going to be optimal for this kite.

Geokite,
I have a Tarc 130 it is about 2m . It is a trainer and I don't expect it to stand up to 30mph winds for long ? For sure not on the tiny bar + lines it
comes with stock. I have only flown it once static so far and am NOT impressed. Stop by and I will let you have a shot at it!
Something tells me a 6m Phanny II will serve up much better!

Not really for me, but for my wife or any beginner. It would be great if a beginner could buggy in 30mph with an arc, without going very fast. True,
high winds are usually bumpy, but that is why we fly arcs...

Flew the P II Proto at NABX and yeah, it was different with the VPC, but they promised that it would be removable with a straight P I bridle option
(no VPC). Hope that still holds true or they have another chance of messing up a good thing (like taking the Synergy off the market).

The P2 is a dream to fly and I have to be honest I spent most of my time on the protos last season. I barely ever broke out the Chargers.
That said when I did fly a Charger it was awesome. Flying the proto Phantom 2's I'd forget how good the Charger really is until I'd get back on it.
But the Phantom 2 just has a feel that suits my riding style better than the Charger. She's fast, snaps a turn on a dime, has smoother lift than the
Charger and seems to be a lot friendlier in the really nasty conditions. There are times when I'm on the Charger if it's really punchy (20mph gusting
to 40+) at tree line or in a tight spot when I feel that if I make a minor placement mistake with the wing I will get lofted. Hasn't happend but I
feel the potential of it.
The Phantom 2 seems to lack that with me. I need a little less concentration to keep her in check in the tight places, which makes the ride a little
more enjoyable when it's punchy. My wife loves the Phantom 2 compared to the Chargers. She loves the Chargers as well but prefers the smoother nature
of the P2. She still rips across the ice at nearly 60mph on it tho so she's not afraid to let it run.
The Phantom 2 cruises with a lot less pilot input which I'm sure a lot of former Phantom 1 users and people who don't feel comfortable on the Charger
will appreciate. Not as little as the P1 which is nearly as stable as the F-Arc it was based on but pretty damn good. I think somewhere between a V2
and the Syn would be a fair estimate. I haven't tried it w/o a VPC (I love the VPC) but I suspect that would mellow her out even further. Tho I
agree that taking the Syn off the market and running the Charger as the only Arc in the lineup may have been a mistake I don't think this is a repeat
of that same type of error.
But like Rude Boy and acampbell stated it is NOT like the old Phantom and I think if you're expecting it to fly that way you'll be dissapointed
initially but after a little time on it you'll realize what a kick ass wing it really is. And I'm sure the P2 will retain the same tunabilty and
mod-abilty of the previous Arcs. Which until just now I hadn't even considered! This is the first Arc I've had that I haven't wanted to tinker with!
:shocked2 yet)
