You won't need too big a kite with a long board.

3m is a good size and what I used getting going on rollerblades.

Stick with a quality name brand . The quality will be assured + resale will be much easier.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Good flying!

Now, go use the money you had for a kite for safety equipment. Helmet, knee pads, elbow pads at the minimum.

Hi Andy.... and welcome.

Just a heads up. I believe the Big Buzz is a 2 line kite. It is fine for getting the basics down, and exploring the wind window (details about that are here), but you will eventually want to move to a 4 line kite for more control.

+1 on safety equipment before climbing on the board.

ATB,
Sam

Welcome Andy
Glad you picked the right addiction!!! I chose kites over heroin:) Heroin gets too expensive but I do find it's harder to come off of a day of kiting than all other drugs And when the wind doesn't blow you will go through ugly withdrawls and all your money will be spent on trying to scoop up the wind!!! Good luck! Happy flying!!!!! You have a good girl for buying you a kite even if she chose the one "with pretty colors" still rocks!!!
