Charge! Argh!
My Charger 15 arrived yesterday and as luck would have it, the wind was up. Took it to the lake in shifty 15 to 20 knots ...
My gawd it's fast! Scary fast on the changes of direction, I could see a spanking if I'm not on the ball! It was real happy when I got a flat bit of
water (coming in behind the 'waves') so I could get some speed in board and kite ... whee!
More in the blog ...
Question - do they need pigtails? Seemed awfully rear line heavy ...
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Ostracized by the locals, at least he would still have his pet monkey for company.

Hey if any of those sissies got their girly asses down to the lake THEN they could try to harass me about my pigtails
I had it on the second knot on the front lines but it was very back-stally ... tip straps all out?
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Kevin All straps out seem to work best. I have had enough time to tinker with every single setting on vpc and straps, but straps out seem to be just
right

Center strap tight made a big difference on the Synergy ... as did the VPC setting ... I'll play when either a. it's warmer or b. I can diddle about
on the beach.
Did I say it was fast? Cos DAY-UM it's fast!!! :wee:
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Yeah it's wicked fast. I'm used to straps all tight, but when I set my CH all tight it was stalling out as well. Karen cartlidge and Carltb both told
me that it likes to be looser. When I made the switch it acted the way I was used to only faster. It brings a smile to your face doesn't it?

In my first post my phone auto corrected me, I meant to save havnt had enough time to tinker with different combination of settings. People have told
mr that the float down is better when the middle strap is out. I think at NABX I'm gonna tighten up the middle strap by 25% every so often and see
what works best for big air. My first session on the charger I felt like a noob because all of my scorpions and venoms I have always flown all straps
all tight.
Did you get the nav bar? How do you feel about it on your first session?

Yeah I got a Nav bar ages ago ... I love it! The ONLY thing I'd change is to a push away safety, simply cos I've recently discovered that with frozen
hands it can be hard to find and release the side safety ... maybe a mod to the latest Iron Heart? We'll see ...
The Charger seems much happier on the Nav than the Synergy did - always looked like the Syn was having its LE tips pulled together ... I got a second
bar with the 15 and was going to mod it to remove the Y but I might not now ...
Faster? Holy crap Batman check my shorts! So fast across the window I thought it was going to do a Dead Man's turn on me
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

I hated the clam cleat until I actually used it, it's so much simpler than the old nylon loop. It's turns so fast on such a short bar

For my needs I tend to run 3" tails with 1" adjustment knots and usually the farthest knot out up front. 4th knot on VPC. (light bar pressure)
Kami, cowboy up and mod that bar. You'll never go back.
And as I've said before, Pepijn recommends running all straps loose. Obviously there are exceptions at times but all loose enables the kite to fly as
intended.
P' hasn't steered me wrong yet!:D

Bah have to translate the addled one's noodle-speak now :D front pigtails, bottom knot? Extensions on the rear pigtails?
Yeah seriously thinking about it ... it's a matter of getting around to ordering lines etc ...
All straps set loose ... did that yesterday!
Found some caps for the spars at the DIY store - they're for those nasty cheap metal deck chairs (well I know what I mean) and have about 3mm of good
solid plastic/rubber/stuff at the end ... they're just a little too small ID but they wedge on good, but the OD is also bigger and the rubber is not
slick like the OEM caps so they kind of "stick" in the pocket ... humming and harring over them ...
Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...
