Short lining a de-power kite?

Just wondering, what are the shortest lines anyone has flown a de-power kite on? Is 15M possible? Most companies list 20M as their shortest de-power set, but I've only flown my de-powers on 25M lines. My beach is quite narrow, with trees in the dunes, and even with the 17.5M Vector lines I got from Rip,(on my FB's) there are spots that get a little too 'close' for comfort. I'd have a custom 15M set made up if possible to short line a de-power.

Flysurfers come with 12, 6 and 3m lines and claim to be able to be flown on any mix of lengths  My Psycho3 is flying on 18m lines at present ...

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

Yet I fly my small PL's on a double 20m Lineset now and then. Just goes to show adjusting the line length can extend/shorten the wind wind range for a kite.

What do you do with your foils?

Bob I had the 5m Apex on 12m(approx) lines , 2-3"snow , somewhat lighter winds, the kite would fly out of the power zone faster than I was used to and the sled could'nt keep up, so I really had to work at keeping it in the power zone untill I came up to speed then I was alright. You are very used to short line flying plus being on wheels with little resistance I dont think you will have any problem.

5m beamer dearly departed into a tree
3 "snowspider" homebuilt kite sleds
3 homebuilt buggies
1 skate board with seat on wheels or blades (the c0ckroach)

I've flown my Slingshot Ranger 9m on 10m lines. Wicked fun getting into places you usually can't go with normal lines. Needed a fair amount of wind compared to 23m lines. No downlooping.

Fun stuff tho. I've been thinking about fying my Charger 19m on 15m lines and seeing how that goes. Just haven't benn able to stop regular riding long enough to play with it!

10m lines on 8.5m Gin Eskimo
Totally different experience when flying .... Kite collapses way easier when comparing to 6m Gin with 25m lines that I try at same day .... I want to try it inland on local field where space is limited by passing dog walkers .... However .... I think it will be a challenge to fly it in gusty winds.....

For NABX I make up a number of shorter line sets to run the arcs on - in previous years I've flown smaller Synergys and Scorpions on as short as 45ft line sets. This year I've made up line sets 35, 40, 45, 55, 60, 75 ft to use some with the twinskins and some with various FB foils depending on wind. The 60ft lines I use quite a bit of the time. Smooth wind at the end of the day you can get rolling and do a lot of throwing the kite around in 360s with the short lines. Short lines do limit gust absorption though - the kites react a lot quicker and don't get a chance to warp the same in different winds, and you have to watch not to turn them too quickly upward on short lines when going fast in a buggy. I do like the shorter lines in a buggy and big kites look great but on the dry lake you also don't want drag the wingtips with it so much closer.
