Given that I've never gone the "card" route in my lessons I've been lucky thus far that the instructors have all assessed my skill level and we kinda
"picked up where I left off". Maybe I should keep quiet about the card in my Keys lessons because I'm pretty sure I'm about done. It's the gear rental
thing though.....I don't know how much I'll be traveling in the next few years but I'd hate to get somewhere and not be able to rent gear because I
didn't go the card route......
Same for you NJ - I suspect they'll assess your skill level, touch on stuff you need like body dragging and carry on from there. Imagine a complete
newb with NO previous kite experience.......we land kiters are in a different class but do still need some of the water fundamentals. But yeah...don't
go up to the counter to "buy lesson 3" - just book private one on one lesson time. I think that's what's saved me the groundschool formalities that we
already know.
