Roots bindings parts
I broke the metal piece that attaches the velcro binding to the metal that attaches to the landboard. I have looked all over and can't find
replacement parts for Roots bindings. Any place to get replacement parts for bindings? I can probably rig up something from the hardware store if
not....
Thanks, Ed

loop it through, close the gap, tie it, adjust the strap ....rollout!

Do you mean GI Roots? and did you break the L mouting bracket itself? I'd call GI and see what they can do with spare parts they have kicking
around.

roots binding
Phreerider: Thanks I will give that a shot. I was thinking maybe heavy duty zip tie also... I will rig something up. Now if it will just stop
raining here in Illinois! ed
B-Roc: Yeah GI Roots and it is the metal that is between the velcro and the l-bracket. The weight of the metal almost makes me think it is meant to
break under heavy stress. With my board skills I suspect I will be stressing the bindings until I acquire some real skills!

If you are calling Ground Industries, please make sure to use the new number and save yourself some frustration:
(864) 979 3819
If it's the L-Brackect, I am assuming they are the Roots Pro bindings?

If GI doesn't have anything on hand immediately, send DirtDave1 a PM (in case he has some hiding in the woodshed) or drop me an email at the address in my profile.
Careful with zipties... when they break, they do so quickly and without warning. The gripper ridges will slowly gnaw away at your board if there is
even a little slack in them.

Sam

not a spot for zip ties , shock load will spoil the day.
the L bracket is a different problem, the metal connector within the straps is common break point easily fixed with paracord.
the hard ware store or dave is the way to go.
i think the pro roots are my fav. the talon are great but rust prone, so the cool ratchet stuff binds after a while.

Velcro bindings are definately the way to go. I rode the talons for 3 or years before switching to roots velcro and I'm so glad I did. I hated
fiddling with ratchets.

Going back and reading Post #4:
"B-Roc: Yeah GI Roots and it is the metal that is between the velcro and the l-bracket. The weight of the metal almost makes me
think it is meant to break under heavy stress. With my board skills I suspect I will be stressing the bindings until I acquire some real skills!"
It sounds like the tri-glide bit it. Looks sort of like this:
Even if you got the piece (less than a buck), one side/slot would be easy to take care, as it is the part the webbing/velcro "laces" through. The
other (standing) side is sewn shut to the short webbing strap (double layer with reinforcement) that attachs to the L-bracket.
Going the repair route, it's one of those things if I was going to do, I would turn over to the elves at EMS/REI and say "Pretend this is a climbing
harness and my life and the health of my furry pack will depend on it."

thats the piece. Para cord fixed it. Thanks for the advice. GI said they would send me one, but after reading the above it might be sewn shut at
the L-bracket...
I actually broke it on my last run down a local sled hill. I have be riding down the sled hill and then running (jogging) back up. great work out
for those of us that dont really like the gym. the money I save on gym membership can go to kites, boards, and buggies!
Thanks for all the advice it really helps out us who are the only kiters in an area. Also every used or new piece of equipment i have bought on the
board or from retailers has always arrived in better than expected condition... What do I need next????

Wouldn't be surprised if GI sent you the whole segment that includes the L-Bracket, short strap, and triglide.
Glad you're sorted enough to ride.
