Wow, Looks like it was a great day at the sodfarm, oh yah, it was good alright.
Flash watched the grandkids most of the day and fletcht and stedson with leojim played well together out in the back 80. I smoozed with all the visiters and ended the day watching a movie on the tent wall and eating popcorn. To much wine and its off to sleep.
See you all in the morning, weather looks good for another day in the windy sun at the sodfarm. nighty night

Put some miles on yesterday :spin: I really enjoyed that. Thanks to Big Kid Kites for the festival and HQ kites and flash for letting me try some out. The surface was really nice and easy to roll with minimal ruts from the irrigation. Almost as nice as hardpack sand and about 4 hours less of a drive. Well worth it! I might be back on Monday if the forecast looks good.

Yes, thanks to Jeff and Big Kid Kites for organizing, also to the owners of the turf farm.
Had a good half day of flying started at 6:30 low tide actually when I finished breakfast, it took awhile for the winds to decide whether it was going to be a 3m or a 6m but finally settled in. Had two kites out and ready at all times. Left around noon. Great weekend lots of miles. Didn't see a shipwreck but did navigate around huge sprinkler systems. Gotta love it.

OK, you all left a bit early today. winds are 12 to 15 out of the north and I got the whole place to myself, neenernernerneeener.
Blokarting with the duece bar and both grandkids in the back kart, getting rather good at 2 wheeling the blokart. The powered parachuters left early because of the high wind so that opened up the entire area to me me me me.
Pizza and beer again tonight, grand kids are watching a movie and I don't care. One more day left to play. why am I telling you all? Cause I'm here and you arn't, Ha Ha Ha
To much to eat and drink and much bugging in the AM, Night Night all.

I'm pleased, hope the winds hold for another day. I got some good runs in so I am not disappointed. I'm tired, I won't be awakened by the wind in the morning. I won't have to gulp down my coffee to get out and ride. So enjoy yourself. Stetson, and LeoJim if you make it back have fun. See you all next time.

Flash, You rock! Anyone who has the knowledge and the ability (and patience) to teach morons how to fly along with the 8 year old with ADD, up to the old and frail, has my respect and admiration.
It's one thing to be smart and knowledgeable, but no one is as good a teacher as Nic.

My grandsons only came to this festival because Nic was coming, (She's great!).

Hope you plan a return trip next year, maybe the boys will bring you flowers this time, and goodies for Rose. ;)

I wonder. Is this fellow with the sod farm open to visitors with NAPKA insurance ? Or is this just for the annual events? We would gladly continue to teach Him buy him a bottle ...

ahhhh thanks guys, you know I just love having fun and getting everyone to fly. It was awesome, and kiting the sod farm is always one of the coolest experiences of my flying life. The surface is so unreal, like miles of green dense close cropped velvet. I couldn't help flying, even when they had to turn on the big sprinklers.

Btw, I don't think I have ever done a slalom course around sprinklers spaced 10 feet apart in a buggy in gusty wind. Might have to had that to the race format docket for future events. Upwinding through it wasn't as much fun lol, the guys that were on the back 80 know exactly what I am talking about :)

ps. Big Kid, I will always play with your grandkids, they are pretty cool... :)

We were there. The wind made frequent appearances. Jim and I were rocking the 11m Neo's and still got some miles on. Problem is that we were not on PKF to know you wanted to come.

U2U sent with contact info.
