Sadly too much open space in the US has been turned into soccer fields, golf courses, and homogenized shopping centers.

In relative size, it's amazing how much open land the UK and Ireland have been able to retain.

Here's are fine example of 3 golf courses essentially piled on top of each other:

Apparently golf courses get lonely too unless surrrounded by other golf courses.

Here in our part of CT there are more golf courses then are needed. Most of the time there are very few out there.
