Let us know your weight and winds and we might be a better help here. Just two weeks ago I saw a guy lifted and carried about 10 feet by a 1.5m Hornet.

Usually suggest the 3m kite as a starter for most people. Great size to learn on and can be flown in relatively lower end winds. will also become a high wind kite once you have advanced. Some people go 2m or less, but then the need for higher winds are there. Which could make it difficult to learn with.

Go to www.coastalwindsports.com and read through the tutorials. In there Angus gives good info on kite selection.

As mentioned going with a 3m kite is usually your best bet getting started. It has plenty of pull in high wind and flies well in low wind.

I find it interesting you know what kite you want before you understand about sizes? Exactly what has made you so sure of the right kite?

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

Just a word of advice: some people will tell you that size doesn't matter...but I've learned that when it counts...
