If you buy a kite new it usually comes with lines. :) And everything else you need to fly, including a sweet backpack to put it all away in. Welcome aboard! Did you buy a kite yet and just need lines or what's up?

If you click on resources under the PKF logo, any of the vendors listed there can hook you up with new lines/handles, or you could just click on my sig, and Don would be more than happy to help you out. Welcome to the forum, and what kite did your friend give you? Also, you could pester your friend, saying it's just a tease to give you a kite with no lines/handles!

Curious what kite you were given, and if you have experience flying a beginner friendly kite if that one is more for the experienced. Not trying to dump on you, but hope that you weren't given an engine that could hurt you if you are only in the beginning stages.

3.0 M should be a good place to start, unless you are Euro-supermodel waifish. If so, just go out in lighter winds and refrain from wearing high heels while flying.

Hornet flying lines are 20m 200Kg power lines/100Kg brake lines which will run about ~$65-$80, depending on brand and phase of moon.

Basic Peter Lynn Handles will be about ~$20-$25

Peter Lynn Kite Killers ~ $15

If the budget is really tight, you can post a WTB (Want To Buy) thread in the Wanted section of the forum. Folks might have surplus kicking around in their gear bags.

Sam

Nice find. Don't know much about them but you should be fine. Give them a good pre-stretch just to be sure (loop them over something and streeeeettch them out), then verify to make sure they are all still the same length. Step 2 - hook up and go fly!

Be careful with eBay. ;)

No seriously. For some reason, kites and kite accessories are a target for scammers on eBay. Avoid it if you can.

I am not sure those prices are much less than I see on my Peter Lynn list?

Things sound a bit iffy with that add. Brand new unopened and then made to order with extra sleeves? Ebay in general is a bad place for uneducated to shop for kite stuff.

I have a feeling these lines will be O.K. but unstretched. Watch and make sure all 4 are always equal.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

I thought about this a bit last night. Ask if they are PRE stretched lines. The fact he includes sleeves tell me not ?
If not, ask for more that 2 spare sleeves . 4 at least.

got a reply back from the seller, he told me that the lines are pre-stretched and that they will send me 2 more sleeves! (thought I would get hassled for those). Got the lines on Friday and used them twice so far, only complaint is that they didnt have the color I was looking for but so far so good. Thx for the tips
