NABX & Vendors
I need to know if I should buy a buggie now or wait until the NABX
. Can anyone tell me if there will be any one there selling
buggies, kites etc.:?: What kind of deal would I get compared to buying one here and now:?:

Keep in mind I have only been to 2 kite events. But in my (limited) experience, there are usually reps there with equipment to try, but I have not
seen people selling much. You will certainly be able to try mucho kites and buggies, but as for making a purchase, it seems slim. Unless you find
someone who is selling a used bug and arrange for them to bring it to NABX. Feel free to correct me if anyone sees error with this post!

Twice is nice! This will be my first and I am only able to attend the first and last days of the events due to my work schedule.
Due to your input, I've decided to purchase my first buggy next month rather than wait until the end of March.
I’m going to go with the Kite Trike "Classic" Limited Edition sells for $299.00 and shipping is only 20 dollars. I’ve found on the web at
madkiting.com.

Buggy-Brethren,
Selling at the nabx site creates conflicts.
First, the BLM has a say on sales under their permitting process.
Costs us more if we want to allow sales.
Then a way has to be found to assess those costs to the dealers.
Then a way to distinguish between a licensed dealer and someone getting rid of unused gear, and if and how that changes things.
Where does it end?
Hotdog vendors?
Sunglasses?
Sunscreen and bottled water?
Time-shares and vacation resorts?
So... More organization and structure.
And people to administer the policies.
As a retailer, and a local buggier, I find a personal conflict when my favorite playa is filled with some of my best old friends, and some young, new
ones too, and I have to tend my merchandise and keep track of monies.
Makes going out there not fun, but business.
I figure I won't want to play that game for long.
So I don't.
Over the years, folks have been very understanding and place orders for needed buggy stuff beforehand and either pick it up when they get to town or I
deliver when I come out.
But I don't carry an inventory out to the playa.
That consideration allows me to enjoy myself for the limited time we have together.
That's how I deal with my situation as a rider and a seller.
Personally I like the idea of folks being able to unload old gear so they can afford to buy new stuff.
Person-to-person commerce is a great beginning.
It has the added benefit of strengthening our buggy community and even trickling down to the retail marketplace.

Sheesh, at the Burn, he's the paperboy for a city of 30,000.
At NABX, he don't even wanna be a kite dealer!
Go figger!
