Buggying NW Indiana

Does anyone know if power kites and or kite buggies are allowed on the beaches of Lake Michigan.... Ogden or Indiana dunes, or anywhere on the south end of the lake?

Not to worry, we're the anomaly when it comes to adrenalin sports. Although the symptoms of the diseases are quite similar and there is no known cure for either, the motorsports bug and windpowersports bug are entirely different strains and attract vastly different personality types.

In this game, the learning curve is steep and very few people possess the drive, self discipline and degree of mental acumen necessary to effectively school themselves in the ways of the wind. Even then, most don't get the joke until they feel the monstrous acceleration and witness the spectacular power the wind holds if they can master the skills to harness it. Many are put off by the frustration of tangled lines, seemingly endless bridle fouls and inevitable scrapes, bruises and physical punishment while they progress through the phases of apprenticeship. This is real, honest mental AND physical labor on a scale that rivals any stick-n-ball sport, yet is entirely achievable for those of any age, ability or agility if they are of the bent.

Not "if" but "when" you do find that anomalous personality type tapping you on the shoulder asking endless questions, please be sure to remember you are addressing a kindred soul and, perhaps, one of the best friends you didn't know you had.

Good on ya
