NW Indiana ...any kite buggiers ????

I'm recently hooked on this Kite Buggy stuff and live in the god awfulest place in the world to do it. NW Indiana. Anyone in my shoes? Just got and old Land Lizard off the For Sale forum and have a few kites. Hasn't been enough wind lately to give it a try. Would like to hear from anyone in the general vicinity to maybe hook up and pick your brain. That way I'll have someone to call 911 for me when I experience my first OBE.

Hi hunter, I just googled your section of the country, and suggest if you can get you and your buggy to the Indiana National Lakeshore on a NW wind, it sure looks like you could get some good riding in. I live near the western shore of Lake Ontario, and use the beach at the Lakeview Wildlife Management Area (NY State) for my home beach. They allow bicycles on the beach, and though I've often seen State workers here, I've never been approached with any negativity by them. I'm not sure of the reception you'll find there, it being Federal, but hopefully you will be fine. Just ride safely/responsibly around pedestrians, etc. This, of course depends on the crowds, as you can imagine, too many people would hinder any riding. I would also think that if it is allowed there, and there are any more kiters in your area, they would also use that area, so look for other kites in the air! I don't know if you get much snow, but don't rule out snowkiting farm fields come winter. We can feed this addiction year round!
