not kite related but some fun vintage stuff
Came across this set of old Popular Science and Mechanics type covers that show quite a few "coming in the future" concepts - jet powered water craft,
different snow vehicles and the tiny tv sets (compare to an ipod tablet for size)
anyway, some goofy things and some fun ones:

yah, there seems to be a lot of props used on many of the ideas - we don't need no stinking safety cages.
