I've been using this harness since NABX, so I thought a review was over due.
Before NABX I used waist harnesses. I used brands from wiipika, dakine, and prolimit. No matter what I did they always rode up into my armpits. this
restricted a lot of my tricks. I wasn't able to grab my board with ease since my harness was stuck under my arms.
Radical:
Very comfortable with padding in the seat. It helps absorb impact when I crash. The adjustable leg loops are wrapped with padding that is
comfortable as well.
I use the standard spreader bar. It comes with an very thick spreader bar pad that keeps the metal from digging into your skin.
The metal rings on the side give you a place to attach your safety leash.
Grab handle on the back is nice when you are flying overpowered. Scott had to tow me to the hard pack sand at wwbb when wind was 30-40 while i was
using the 12m charger. So it definatly works well!
the nice thing about big air and freestyle with this harness, is that it does not ride up your armpits lol. It also holds your body in the standing
position so to keep your board below you while you are in the air, which is unlike the conventional climbing harness that puts you in the seated
position. It allowed me to spin tricks easier, and grab my board with ease since i wasn't restricted.
Another bonus is that you can wear the harness all day while you are at the beach. A waist harness you have to take off when you are relaxing because
it restricts your breathing.
It helps when you are riding and catching gusts. since you are anchored from your hips, when you hit a gust all you have to do is sit back a bit and
compenstate the bumpy winds. with a waist harness it is slightly easier to get pulled off balance from your upper core.
I suggest checking it out if you tend to fly overpowered and you want to stay comfortable.
