Help shortening the reach on arc
Alright here is the gist of it. Andrew is only 11 so when flying his vortex has a really hard time letting the bar all the way out(same issue on the
apex as well). How can I "shorten" the throw on the bar without altering the AoA when in neutral. In essence I would like to shorten the depower
strap from the chicken loop end. I understand this would reduce some of the potential power when pulled in bust that would be okay. The other
thought would be add pigtails to the brakes and then a stopper ball on the depower line closer to the chicken loop. Please all you arc tuning guys
give me some help. We are heading to Jekyll in 2 weeks and would like to try something before we head south.
Thanks
Scott

Stopper ball is the easiest way but may chew up your depower line ...? Could just tie a knot in the depower line :D

Check the front to back line length. If it is used the front lines are most likely stretched. To make the lines equal at the end, Instead of
adjusting the leader lines at the bar, shorten the depower line at the bottom of the trim strap by adjusting the bowline knot. It will shorten the
throw but bring the trim strap closer which is I think what you are after.

I am having a little trouble getting my head around the main issue.
Is the problem that if your son lets go the bar is up at the top it is then out of reach? If that is the case a single stopper at his maximum reach
seems the answer. Compinsate by running the kite slightly more depowered and accept you have lost a tiny bit of power ?
I am off base aren't I?

Blade you nailed it problem is if I stopper it the brake lines are too tight so that would be the reason for the pigtails I am thinking.

Shorten the chicken loop/center line and use a longer depower strap (Airush used to make a long one). Or add a section of line above the depower
strap.

Add pigtails to the rear lines and use a not or stopper ball don't try and make it complicated it should be easy and reversible quite effortlessly

redo knot below the trim to fit needs,
the bar being closer will help transfer balance through legs and hips more away from the shoulders , lower balance makes it easier.
pull trim in halfway gives extra set at full in. and this!...speeds up turns! because of the favored to depower you can have more topend with faster
turning sweet spot range. like 12-15mph on land and 20mph on the water...and and! BETTER upwind! by going further out ... unhook ready by easy
trim.
or shorten from the bottom like KK said, on the spot easy!
get use to doing the depower line
excellent topic!

Sorry to bring this old thread back!
Scott, did you ever find a solution for this issue?
I was thinking something along the lines of a sliding stopper. But I can only find sliding stoppers for bars where the chickenloop/center line is dual
line(Like the Navigator bar), and not for single center line like in the 07 bar.

Well, from the look of it, with screws, it won't be slideable on the fly, :/
That looks alot like PLs stopper ball:
but for larger lines. If you screw it all the way, it will be stationary, but if if it's loose, it will slide unwillingly (does this make sense?!?)
I've been trying to find a good "one line depower stopper ball on-the-fly" but only have found the PL One (which I use on my "frankenbar") but must have the alley key at hand to move the ball when needed.
This is not the solution,
Will have to get a navi chicken loop and go "two lines depower", :D
