Its chopped some- i think i will be chopping it some more once i get a few jumps on it to check it out. Actually thinking i will bring my saw with me to jekyll. Wind and tides mean no kiting til lat afternoon so morning i can chop. Not sure how much the hotel will appreciate that.:wow:

Phree,
Am hoping you get a pass from the bride to join us one of those afternoons. I want to work on some new moves, mostly riding toeside and doing manuals and i would feel privileged to be able to get some feedback from you. We are hoping to get there on friday the 29th in time to fly some and then will be ready to fly every afternoon until wednesday the 3rd when we make the trek back home.

welcome to the American Trampa owners club. Congrats, But how could you mollify a Trampa by puttin MBS parts on it. You need a set of VerTigo trucks or some Infinity trucks. Oh,well you are half way there Bro. see ya in Oct.,I'll be ready to fly then.

How much did you pay for it? Where did you get it? What does chopping mean?

Price is dependent on component configuration.

I think Rian said that you can get Trampa through East Coast Kitesports. It's not on their website, so the order has the be done over the phone. The other source is Mountainboard.Net

You can see some some typical configurations (with prices) at the mountainboard.net site.

Trampa boards are made of a resin impregnated woven thermoplastic (say that 5 times fast). They lend themselves to be trimmed/cutout by the end user. This is usually dones for aesthetics and to reduce a nominal amount of weight. Depending on location and degree of trimming this will also impact the flex characteristics of the deck.

You can view about 190 chopped, pimped, blinged boards (some Trampa, some not) here.

Sam

Indigo, thermoplastics????? It looked to me that it is a pre-preg carbon fiber composite. I do have experience in composites and worked with a few guys that made parts for the Nascar teams. Specifically Hendrick Motorsports as well as Chip Ganassi's team. Either way, are there not carbon fiber composite decks? That being said, that is why I wondered about chopping. Thermoplastic I can see cutting or chopping. Sounds like a business to me, in laying up decks. I might just get a deck, see how they do it, and make up a prototype! How cool is that! $$$$$$$$

It's a fiber-reinforced thermoplastic. Ted's not recycling soda bottles.... the good stuff is mined in the Wakandan mountains ;-). The full story and fabrication details can be found here:
