flow/scout

2011 Ozone Flow 5m or scout II 5m....not going to buy them, just wondering on everyones opinion on one or the other. they both look like pretty cool kites. I personally think the flow would be nice to get.

Can't speak to the Scout.....

I have the Flow 3M (bought) and 2M (followed me home). I have been tempted a couple of times by the 4M & 5M, but that would created some overlap in the quiver which I can't really justify (not that that has always stopped me  ).

However, what I like about the Flows pretty much applies to the entire family.
  • In addition to dirtouts, the Flow has a "sand channel" that runs across most of the trailing edge which makes clearing any debris that gets into the kite much easier.

  • Because the Flow uses diagonal ribs, it reduces the number of bridle lines required, which makes for a much cleaner kite and helps in lower winds.

  • In addition to cells 1 & 2 (from the wingtip) being closed, so is cell 5. This reduces the tendency of the kite to deflate when there are lulls in the wind.

  • Power deliver is very progressive and overal the kite is very stable.

  • Mid-air recoveries with the kite are very easy and predictable.

  • Kite inflates readily and fully from a launch position because the intake vents are located back from the leading edge of the kite, so they are facing directly into the wind when the kite is sitting on it's trailing edge.

  • Since the air intakes are located further back from the leading edge, there is a reduced chance of damage to the intake vent mesh during a nose down crash.

ATB,
Sam

indigo i have a 5 meter awsome park and ride kite. flys in 22 mph wind average and hauled down the cost with almost no worry. exept for the 25+ gust that hit me at speed got some good sideways pull. sorry for the threadjacking here. +2 for the flows dont know about the scout who makes it even.

The Scout is designed more as a kiteboard trainer + to fly static on a bar.
The Flow is designed as an engine. It should show it's best qualities in motion.

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.
Flysurfer : 19m Speed 2 SA, 7m Pulse
Peter Lynn :18m Phantom, 15m Synergy, 10m Synergy, 1200 Farc, 460 Sarc, 130 Tarc, 5m Peel, 4.2m , 6.4, 8.5 C-Quads, 3.5 LS2 single skin.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .

pretty good reviews on both kites so far. looks like the flow is more popular than the scout for sure
