Night Ridin' in NW AZ.

How 'bout some Night Flyin' 12,13,14 Aug on Red Lake, 30 miles North of Kingman. I've been able to verify that it's still unposted checkerboard land, no permits req'd, LEAVE NO TRACE !!! Keep it open, Pack it in, Pack it out.

(That means cigarette butts, gum wrappers, apple cores and baby wipes too.)

Full Moon weekend Wx shows H 98-100 L 72-78 and clear skies at night as is typical with desert full moon cycle. Wind trends have been "desert summer typical" with a sneeze in the morning, bumpy upzy-downzy convective flows thru the day building to 12-20 gusting to 25 in the late afternoon and smooth 5-10 thru the night.

Current forecast sez isolated daytime thunder showers Sat. & Sun and clear nights but that's a big area with little or no percip over the last 3 weeks and a trend toward drier than normal conditions. At 7 days out, I'm havin' a hard time trusting the prognosticators that far in advance. I'll be watching it closely so stay tuned if you're of a mind to.

Just in case they are a lot smarter than I give 'em credit for, I'm thinkin' of headin' out from Yuma Friday afternoon and be prep'ed for launch by about 9:00 PM to try to get some night riding Friday night when the moon starts to peak.

Any forecast Weather appears to be stacking up to the south and east of the site so the sunsets aughta be tremendously colorful.

Bump :puzzled:

It's gettin' sketchy. The call right now is 20 to 40% chance of isolated Tstorm activity Friday thru Sunday AM. Figures...

Anyway, I'm still in. I'ld rather sit in the middle of nowhere on a camp stool drinkin' cold beer watching a thunderstorm roll through than hide from the 110 temps indoors stareing at the "Hi Def Panel of Death" wishing for a rain that will never come.

Sorry to hear that Phree, it's gotta be a killer ride around there at night.

At this point, the plan for next month is Fall Buggy Boogie Thang @ El Mirage 17th & 18 Sept. Full moon falls on the 12th but remnants of the SCTA event will likely still be in play thru the week.

Of course, best thing about a plan is you always have something to deviate from...
