UPDATE
After the many comments, well wishes and regrets that I received from many of your here, I was quite affected by the community response to my decision
to pull out of buggying. So, I've done a lot of thinking about a possible solution to my transport conundrum. At this point I've decided to explore
the idea of joining our local car co-op which would allow me to snag wheels to get my gear to the kite field on the days that the car I've been
sharing with my partner is being used to get my mother in law to appointments.
Consequently, my kit and caboodle sale is 'on hold' until I see how well this plan can work.
Thank you all so much for your caring and kindness. I might still see you out flying on a field or beach some time soon!

No longer having much access to a car, I'm finding it really tough to haul my gear out to fly. Transit and bike just aren't doing it. So I've decided
to bite the bullet and bail on my kite buggying. I will put the funds towards financing my other love, outrigger racing canoe competitions. All gear
has been lightly used and is in good to excellent shape.
Sad to learn you are leaving the sport. I know Becky and Marie will be bummed to hear you won't be back at GP.

You still have a lot to teach me there!
Buy with confidence. Airin kept real good care of her gear.

BeamerBob, the outrigger canoes are supplied by whatever club hosts the races.
Locally I belong to the Vancouver Racing Canoe Club which owns its boats and all I need to do take a five minute bike ride, with my lifejacket and
paddle in my panniers, to get to dock where we launch the boats.
When our team travels to competitions, be they nearby, like on Vancouver Island, or for the annual 27 km Queen Lily race held in Hawaii which we hope
to compete in next year, all we need to bring along is, again, our lifejackets and paddles.
Compared to trying to haul kite gear to NABX or SOBB, the outrigger gear is, well, quite obviously infinitely more lightweight and easier to
transport.
I think that calls for a suitably head bob-inducing song with appropriate lyrics.... heck, we'll even throw in a vintage cow portrait for absolutely
no good reason.

so i'm not sure how small the buggy folds or how far the kite field is...but don't underestimate what you can pull off with a good bike cargo
system....probably it's too far, i just miss living in a bike-able place like van...
and you have to love the Sport Utility Bike from xtracycle...the bolt on 'free radical' extension works great and is somewhat
affordable... http://www.xtracycle.com/
Say, airin. I used sch. 40 pvc to make a tow device for towing my buggy with my bike. With that deep Scorpion seat, all your gear could fit right in
the buggy. Here's a link to a video showing the towbar. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_profilepage&...

Indigo_wolf....thanks for 'waiting' for me.....:-)
mukluk and goofba11, thanks for those suggestions...some really practical ideas there.
bobalooie57, that's a great vid showing how you built the bike tow attachment for your trailer. I can seriously see something like that working for
me, then adding the kites to the seat of the bug and securing it with the cargo net that goofba11 posted the link to. This work be perfect for
getting to the closer, albeit smaller, of the two kite parks we have.
