Deciding on a new kite?

I usually fly lei's on water but am looking for a med/high wind foil for snow and a little landboarding between seasons, to complement my 12m slingshot ranger. I know snow is a long ways away but it is never too early to start thinking about buying more kites. I have no idea on how big of a gap in size I can safely have. I would prefer a 2 kite quiver if possible. It is always pretty gusty where we fly (15 gusting to 25 -- 30 gusting to 45) so a fair bit of depower is nice. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Charger!

The d'arc side calls!

For me anyway, that 12m lei of yours would be a mid range... Either a 12 charger for the top end... Or a 19m up to 25mph....

Ohhh yeah

at 20 mph I can barley hold the 12m ranger down on a land board. I can get back up wind but Ii have to be gentle or else I just end up power sliding down wind. In 15 mph I get nice floaty jumps and still have some control. I can have fun in 9 or 10 mph and still jump but not big. I weigh 150. I am not sure if I need a lighter wind kite. By the time it would fly I think I would be over powered.

I also weigh 150 and I'm nicely enough powered in 15 mph winds on my 6 meter yeti and if I work my 4m access I can also ride that in 15 mph winds. So I'm thinking a 6m is something you'll want to consider and go with an access like kite if you want a higher high end and a yeti like kite if you want a lower low end.

I am 150lbs

I go to my arcs as soon as they will perform. The 18m Phanny is bringing my bottom end down but I think your 12m Ranger has you pretty covered ? I go to my 15m Synergy ( lately Charger ) at winds over 10mph. They will kick in at about 15 for air but take me into the mid to high 20's. In the 20's I go to my 10m ( or 460 ) .

Without having owned one I think a 12m Syn or Charger may fit your needs? It should fit right in behind the Ranger and take you to all but the highest gusts you describe?

I am not all about pushing arcs when you said gusty it is the 1st kite that comes to mind.

Why not use LEI on snow? The majority do! Many ride ATB with LEI's as well?

Kites: 2.5m Profoil , Quadrifoil XL kitesurfer, NPW 5 Danger.
Flexifoil: 1.7m Sting, 4.9m Blade 3, 9m Blade 2.

Rides: Flexi / P.L. Frankin'Buggy , Shaped + straight skiis, sand skis, Coyote blades. Core 95 ATB. RKB R2 ATB .
