Insurance for Power Kiting

Hi All,

I am a real newbie to your sport and have been advised that I should have suitable liability insurance when flying my kite.

I have come across The British Power Kitesports Association, who offer insurance but their website seems very out of date.

Does anyone have any experience of the BPKA or can anyone point me in the right direction for suitable insurance( which is not tied just to club events only ?

Many thanks, Bob.

And I think it's only if you're holding an "event". I think I read on here somewhere that a workaround is to hold an "event" every weekend even if you're the only attendee.

I added a rider onto my home owners a bunch of years ago when I started doing giant kite displays. If a 25ft delts turns on a gust and comes down on someone. There is going to be an issue. So a $1,000,000 add-on was and is still only a few hundred a year. Never used it and hope I never do. But it's there.

I think the insurance issue is primarily in UK. I understand it's required there.
