I am wanting to try landboarding with a kite. I don't know what kind of board I would need.

I wear size 13 shoes and weigh about 212, of course hopefully I can get that number to go down with all the landboarding workouts.

I have a 3m Beamer and a 5m Twister. Will these be useable to start landboarding?

Thanks for your help.

I love this sport and forum.

Absolutely enough kite to start trying to get pulled around with that twister! The beamer too, if the winds are up!

The major factors you're looking for in a board are: stance width(can vary wildly from different makes/models) and board capacity(200+ lbs rules out some decks).

If you are in OR I cannot recommend going to the Southern Oregon Buggy Bash ENOUGH, this is a great chance to see a variety of makes and models and to actually get some time on a deck and a few pointers from people who already ride them.(Next Week!)

Here's the SOBB forum http://www.powerkiteforum.com/forumdisplay.php?fid=31

So, start with your stance width and we can narrow it down from there! Do you want to jump? you want to just cruise? My buddy who is @6'2" 240 rides a giant tank of a MBS because he doesn't care for air. Other friends must have the newest lightest board out there, as they are working on tricks.

Tide? What's a tide? Man, it's 1000 miles to any ocean.
