I have a Beamer 3.6, is it normal if...

Is it normal if my kite keeps wanting to spiral clockwise:puzzled:

my lines are the same lengths and it seems to do it whoever is flying it.

dodgy kite or design fault:?:

Not normal at all. If all lines are the same length, it should not do this. Check the bridle for tangles. If its new, check with the party that sold you the kite.

make sure your brake lines are pushed forward so the brake lines are slack! also make sure you hands are right at the top of your handles (index finger above the line through the handle and other 3 below) and dont hold the handles in the middle! seen a lot of people doing this (i made the same mistake at the start of my kiting career)! good luck and i hope this helps!

wicked =]
just gotta find the time to get out and try it hehe
one more thing.. what do you think would be a good step up from the beamer 3.6?
maybe something with more lift and perhaps a bar instead of handles

i would say 4.9blade due to the fact it is a great all round kite with lift! or a 5m radsail pro but it doesnt have much lift but it does have some! or a ozone samuri. but it all depends on your budget! look on powerkiteshop.com i find this the best kiting shop around!but if you have enough go for a blade

I fly the whole line of Beaers and they are great kites. Stable fast good upwind. Most times mine are set with the break lines on the 3rd knot from the kite. If your lines are all equal length, no sand in your kite, and you keep your hands even on launch with tension on just the upper leading edge lines. It should go straight to the top of the window and stop. If it is spinning something is wrong. Email HQ and they will help you straighten it out for sure with a bridle plan.

A good step up from the Beamers is the Crossfire. Even more power and lots more lift. :karate:

Hey,

I have recently bought a 5.0 Beamer & have had problems with it spinning as well. Have you sorted your problem out?

hey,
Ive only used the kite a few times since posting the thread
but yeah, the first time i used it, i couldnt get it off the ground for long as it kept spinning, but since, its got easier and hasnt tended to spin as much.
now im getting small airs and its only spinning when the wind drops.
so i'd say practice and see if it works out
how many times have you used the kite?

Find an experienced pilot and let them give your kite a go, if the problem is the kite, they will know, if the problem is you, then you will know.

I have used the Kite about 4 times now, adjusting it every time i fly to get it to stop spinning, i have managed to get a little used to it, it it is annoying when it spins and i can't control it & then all the lines are tangled.
