Ode to SOBB
Just wanted to thank everyone for their kindness and hospitality this past week - I had a fantastic time and will be back for years to come.
It's funny that I came down here to spread my kiting wings and our winds forced us into spaces and places actually smaller than those "bad places to
fly" back home. Each and every one of my excuses to not kite the field right across the street from my house have been officially nullified. And the
ocean? Wow....it DEVOURED my kite yesterday and was a real eye opener for me. I won't forgot those lessons. I'm happily on my way back to our flat
waters and won't be griping about our "sometimes" two foot chop any more!
I'll pop out to the beach before I officially point my way north but to those I don't get to see on the way out It was great to meet you, fly safe,
and we'll see you all again!

I just heard from camp that folks will be meeting at del ray today, not at the sunset entrance due to the possible wind direction.
It was great to see you again! The ocean is pretty daunting the first time, but you got out in it.. score one macboy! The waves love to munch kites,
I try never to drop my kite in the surf even if it means sending the kite across the window and going for a downwind ride without my board. And
thanks for letting me try your door too, loads of floaty fun!
Cain't wait til next time!!!

Had a great time with you all at Sobb Hope we get as many next year to show up. I had to leave on Wed and tried to get to the beach but the sand after
the entrance to Del Ray was too Soft and I got Stuck again. So Packed it up and went home.
It was great seeing everyone again.
See you at NABX.

So there's time to make it back you're saying?
No winds in southern Alberta yesterday so I powered through and made it home just after 8pm last night. I did manage a stop in the Gorge and the wind
was on but I just couldn't bring myself to hitting it unsupervised. I'll be back. Hood River looks like a nice town to spend a few days in one of
these trips. I suspect it's a wee bit tourist-laden and prices reflect the same but still, looks like lots to entertain the family.
The final tally was 2,511 miles on the odometer (4,041km) and I'd do it all again right now if it wasn't Saturday already ; )
Hope the wind gods have blessed the second SOBB weekend. Sure wish I was there (but glad to be home).
