paddled 60 minutes today on a 10'6 NSP SUP, inside the sandbar, in the shallows, on an out going tide...........covered most of the islands shorline until it got too shallow.............great fun, gliding in glassy water and man what a workout. Im picking up the NSP 11 footer this Friday! Still have to be careful until the trach is out but will be great in the surf as well.............paddled with nfleech who is quite the surfer as well as paddler. He's Charlestons version of Laird Hamilton................I was exhouasted after the paddle and he was just warming up! If youre looking for a no wind water option this could be your ticket too and it doesnt require an ocean and or waves............may people paddle on lakes and rivers....................

You could also do the land version with a longboard and big stick by Kahuna Creations. I got mine from Dakitez. Great workout.

I do the SUP w/ my longboard, I just use a piece of bamboo from a local bamboo forest. Works great!

def....................the 6'8 Hamm board with the Big Stick would be awesome! We have a 48 inch longboard and may have to pick up a big stick..........but gliding on water is hard to beat!

it is a nice workout. i always have trouble on the surfing ride back in. really don't move back on the tail fast and smooth enough.

tri you just need to move closer to the coast! Buggy, kiteboard, surfboards and now this SUP stuff! You could go do something out there every day.

Did a little SUPing myself yesterday. Had a magical day. Glassy conditions, waist to chest high waves and had the whole point to myself. I'd be surprised if I didn't catch at least 40-50 waves!!!

Can really turn a B wave into an A wave...

It's 12' Ron Johnson that a buddy of mine gave me for free. It's a boat when it comes to turning but you can catch any wave you want

Looking at the Starboard Whooper right now so I can actually do something when I'm on the wave

very nice Pete.....Ive seen a couple Starboards....................nice bit of tail and nose rocker for surfing.........the NSP is a nice cruiser and with its hard rails should turn and surf well....................................

I have an old 12' Mistral Kailua windsurf board I was thinking of trying as an SUP. Slightly narrower then most SUP's so might lack some stablility. Just need to find or make a paddle and see. Looks like fun for the no wind days.
