Pictures during the event

Here's a request for someone or ones to help put photos up during the event.

Bob Childs our amazing web master, who took over for our friend Bob Hogan, is not going to be able to attend this year. He will be sitting on the hot button, waiting to upload pictures for us as we party and get down.

If you can help out with this, that is, be able to take or work with someone who can take pictures, upload them from the hotel or lake bed, and are willing to do this almost everyday, please contact me!

It seems our friends around the world, who can not attend, look to the site anxiously to see what is going on, and who is doing it!

Help a brother out!

Dean,
I got you covered, but will be in LA from the 23rd to the 26th.
I should be able to catch up with the gang @ Superior on the way out to Primm.
My laptop is at your disposal, as well as my camera.

One more volunteer! I will come equiped withcamera and laptop that should also be able to upload from the lakebed. I am planning on the 24th thru Sunday the 2nd. Just direct me where to upload to, as I only have about 10M on my personal web space.

Is it too early to start counting hours?

What we're after is about 10-15 pics per day showing a wide variety of the day's activities (people chilling and action shots). They can be emailed to me, or perhaps dean will let you into the control panel. Pics should include a short description (who, what, why).

Thanks for the help! Us poor saps at home will be enjoying the event vicariously through your pics. See y'all next year.

Great, it's probably best to have folks email the pics to me. That way we can get a varitey of images and I'll make a daily selection. Once we know exactly who is taking pics, I'll provide an email address. This year's album is going to rock!

Any special requests?

Bob,
I feel your pain, if you want anything in particular covered, let me know.
Unfortunately, if the wind is up, I am usually out there. Most of my shots tend to be of the "chilling out" low / no wind variety.
RMV is the man when it comes to capturing the action.
Let me know where to post them, or I can post on my server to have you pick them off.

Best thing is just to email them to me. I'll get back to everyone involved with an email address on Monday. Regarding what to cover... chilling in the morning, racing in the afternoon, hanging out in the evening! 10 -15 pics that give a good cross-section of each day (NABX in a nutshell).

ickyrex, jonesing4wind and any others who wish to contribute... please send your NABX 2006 photos to:
photos@nabx.net

Here's what we need:
*10 to 15 pics total of the pre-event.
*10 to 15 pics for of each day of the main event.
*A short description of each pic.
*It is prefered (though not required) that these pics are not posted to other websites. We like unique content on the NABX site.
*Pics should be emailed at the end of each day (pre-event pics at the end of the pre-event).
*If you want photo credit, please say so.
*Image files do not need to be very large (1 mil pix is more than enough). Please do not email super huge files if possible.

Each day, a selection of the images I receive will be posted to the gallery. Pease do not take it personally if any particular image is not used... it's a matter of webspace.

Thanks to all who help out. Can't wait to see your pics!

Storage is not an issue... we host our own pics. We just need someone to take the pics and donate them to our gallery (as I won't be coming this year to take them myself).

We'll certainly be linking to your site Rob in the rider albums section!

To those who have volunteered... please contact me at: photos@nabx.net and let me know you're onboard.

I've got and know how to use a Fuji Film 2800 6X Zoom Digital Camera, I never leave home without it, except for the times I forget. I plan on taking numerous pix, my camera's digital card holds approx. 999 pix in a 640 x 480 format. If ya want'em bigger, tell me now and I switch the settings to a higher setting. But then I'll only be able to take 250 a day. I live here so I'll be going home at night. I always upload my pix to a yahoo photo area. If you want I can send them to ya at the same time. Do you want them every day or at the end of NABX. Where do I send em'?

Mood: Almost on the playa, cant wait!

[*] posted on 22-3-2006 at 03:41 PM

We'll also have several digital cameras with us, and a laptop, but we're camping on the Playa with no internet connection. So if anyones willing, we could easily throw some photos on a CD if anyone's willing to upload them for us.

Just look for us on the playa, we'll be there tuesday, big green truck, even bigger white camper, ohio plates, 3 very travel sore but excited people! :)

Now all I need to do it pack, grocery shop, prep my gear and finish making my new buggy seat, ugh do I need to sleep between then and now?!

There is no sleep for me at this late hour! I have so many loose strings at work, I could knit a new kite! Not to mention all the travel prep that I always put off till the last minute!

See ya in a couple days!

I live in North Las Vegas, and plan to go home every night that I attend the playa. I believe my departure will be approximately 2130 - 2200 in order to pick up the better half from work. I must remember to pick wife up at 2300 hrs or ???.

I will be on the playa March 28th, 31st, April 1st, 2nd, 3rd; I will gladly take disk home and up load them to Doom.

If I remember right (only sometimes) I volunteered to man the registration desk, tent, table, or what ever else there may be to write on; So I will be easy to find, most of the time.

There is nothing like living our sport through other's pictures. Attended DBBB last year and would LOVE to be there for NABX. But maybe another year. Its a long haul across the Pacific and I have to save the pennies. Until then, have a great time guys (& gals) and keep those photos flowing.

Thinking of yo'all.

Hey Kevin, good to hear from you! We sure enjoyed having you and Margaret at dbbb this year. You guys have *got* to make NABX one of these years. It puts our little beach fest to shame. ;) Hope to see you again some day. Say hey to Margaret for me.
