Which kite to buy? Any must haves? Must owns?

I was thinking maybe a PKD Buster Soulfly. But I don't know what size. Either the 1.5m(good high wind kite?) or the 2.2m(hows it compare?). 2m is my primary buggy kite. Smaller for high wind, still getting used to 3m and 4m.

Is the PKD Buster Soulfly unique enough, or special enough to justify owning?

Are there any really unique or special kites out there that are "different" then most? I don't want to be missing out if there are.

Would you agree Ozone/PL are the two largest fixed bridle kite companies? Then maybe HQ/Flexifoil?

Then there are companies such as PKD, Prism, and Skydog. Then potentially some higher end, boutique companies such as Cooper, JoJo, and Libre.

And Pansh..

Any other companies make any kites for buggy use?

I've been tempted to get another or two Stings just for backup. That would be a huge loss to anyone who could utilize a high wind buggy kite if they ever stop making this kite. Truly unique in it's gust absorption properties. You can feel it. Highly underrated kite.

If you buggy and get winds in the 30-50 mph range, you should definitely get a Sting in the 1.7m size.

Sting 1.7, 2.4 - Flow 2, 3, 4, 5 - Reactor 2.2, 2.8, 3.5, 4.4, 5.5 - Yakuza 2.2, 2.7 - JOJO 9

If I had to nail down my dream FB setup...
I've always wanted a 4m beamer w/ a blade 6.5.
mmmmm

I'd say VIP seems like a damn classy kite, but I don't know much about it.

If I was a buggy guy I'd look seriously at trying to find myself a bego 400 and 600 (not a 200). Unique kites with killer upwind and low wind performance and pull like trucks for their size. Can be super fast with a tap of the brakes and mega lift if you want it while being very stable (in smooth winds). If you don't want the lift fly them like race kites and don't send them back hard. I find them to be a cross between say a III series blade and a JOJO RM - taking the best of both and the bad of neither (well, they will backstall if you don't fly them on the brakes but that's about the only bad point and its super manageable).

If I was flying only inland, I would not fly begos.

I say this as a bego owner (not looking to sell either of them).

I don't view prism, skydog or pansh as real players in the power kite world.

Depower Quiver: 14m Gin Eskimo, 10m Gin Eskimo III, 6m Gin Yeti, 4.5m Gin Yeti (custom bridle and mixer)
Fixed Bridle Quiver: MAC Bego 400, JOJO ET Instinct 2.5 & 5.5, Lil Devil 1.5, Sting 1.2
