kiting in France

Hello all,

I recently just made a trip to Metz, France, for work. We actually work in Onvile, but stay in Metz. In the country side there were lots of good looking rolling hills and windy days that seemed to be untapped. Anyone know if there is good kiting around there in france or neighboring countries? I would have to travel light, but I would love to get out in the water. I have a feeling more trips are on the horizon.

If there's wind + water + beach then there'll be kitesurfers. I don't know what the situation in France is like, but I have friends who live in Barcelona, Spain and have been told the beaches there are closed to kitesurfing during the Summer months because they are just too crowded. In Metz you're a long ways from any beach, which direction are you most likely to go? Looks like the N. coast of Belgium is closest for you, but haven't any idea where to kite there. I know Biarritz, France (due W. of you) is a famous surf spot. The Netherlands is home to Vlieger Ops and is due N of you.

I visited to France last month according to me you should go to courchevel. It is one of Adventure Base's trio of 3 neighbouring courchevel center ski chalets. Whether you're looking for a cheap self catered ski chalet, or a fully catered chalet holiday in the courchevel valley. We can help !!

:D random first post from Javier there.... but yeah courcheval is nice. wait until winter though.

There are a ton of kite spots on the coast in Brittany.

Try posting on www.kiteforum.com - there are a lot of European kitesurfers on there who may be able to give you advice on specific locations
