Reading the hook vs wheel thread a comment in that thread has gotten me thinking (ALWAYS dangerous)
I keep finding myself with the full load of the kite on my arms and not going thru my loop and harness.
Just measured and my current setup is 14.5" from bar center to inside of chickenloop where it would ride on a hook. I have a Ronstan QR clasp on my
harness as a double safety and that adds another 2.5, for a total of 17" from harness to bar.
I am a tall guy but I find at full turn I feel overextended and then end up brining the bar load full on my arms on exiting a kite turn and just keep
holding it.
Wonder if I should look at shortening up the line between CL and bar a bit so I don't feel like I am reaching for the bar? I am thinking it might
help stop the tendancy I have of holding the bar with my arms?:puzzled:
Oh I am using a climbing harness for now, so no spreader bar/hook, that is why I have the ronstan inplace to mate the harness and chicken loop..
