GUITAR HERO HAS GROWN UP!!!!!

I heard about a product like this three years ago called Guitar Rising, but it never ever took off. Tonight wandering through Walmart I come across RockSmith. A game similar to guitar hero that teaches you to play a real guitar. That's right my Zakk Wylde custom is coming out of the closet for a restringing and I might actually learn to play a tune or two. I hope that it actually teaches some theory and how to form the chords, bend the strings, slides, harmonics etc. I can play a bit, but this might actually help focus and force you to get better. Gonna order my copy for the PC.

.....ah.......the Warlocks.......conjures up visions of Lita Ford. Where is she today I wonder?

I was young and foolish and hocked mine for some dumb reason or another.....probably a girl  I'll tune up the old Kramer acoustic electric and have a bit of a gander at RockSmith. Nice find!

You know my dad always commented about my son playing Guitar hero "Does it teach you how to play?" Glad someone finally made this step. Might be worth hitting the local pawn shop ASAP and getting a donor guitar before everyone else does!

Now that is a guitar game i might enjoy never really liked the hero games just because they were so boring standing there strumming and pushing buttons. Now I was a Dance Dance Revolutioner person in high school. Guitar hero was like DDR for your fingers but it wasnt as entertaining for me. This actually looks like it would be amazing to play.

Looks interesting although the videos were pretty short on detail. In fact, they told me nothing at all....apart from being able to use your own guitar.

There are also some amazing iPod/phone/pad apps too: I have 'Guitar Toolkit' - a 50,000 chord library that allows you to 'strum' individual strings and 'sound' the chord as well as see it. Plus a quite good digital tuner and metronome.

Sonoma wireworks has the '4 TracS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K- app and 'guitar jacS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K- which gives a high quality input for the iPod/Phone and have just released 'guitar tone' for guitar effects on your iDevice.

Fostex have released the AR4i which allows you to plug anything into your iPod/iPhone and that seems to work with Fire Studio (8 track recording app) and Fire 2 (stereo recording app). I did a mini 'review' type video of the Fostex -it's completely out of sync for the most part 'cos I didn't realize I could simply do pic in pic in my video editor. Rough as bags too because I just ad-libed the first thing that came into my head but if you put a good pair of headphones on, you'll be able to hear how good it sounds with some decent mics plugged in.

I'm willing to put money on the fact that you'll be able to buy some very good 'learn guitar' apps and games very shortly....

That was a pretty well done review if I do say so. I definitely can't play all that well. I'm actually a member on Riffworld, I've only put up one track just to try out my riffworks, ableton live, and Line6 toneport setup. I did own 7 guitars, one acoustic bass, full set of Bongos and Congas, electric drums set, and one harmonica. I sold most of it to fund my fist year of kiting:lol::lol: I took lessons for a few months, but my instructor went broke trying to only be a music teacher in a small shop. I learned a fair bit from him, but my progression only went so far. Now I have a Zakk Wylde custom Les Paul, and a cheap Washburn House of Blues edition acoustic. This game has sparked my interest to get back into it and see if I can at least learn to play a song or two. Too bad though, the PC version isn't available till the middle of December. I want to try it now.:dunno:

i never had issues with the "music games"

Drums are drums, electronic on my tv, or acustic....

i love the most recent guitar hero... the drums are pretty sweet (not as tough as they should be) but still pretty dang realistic... ive learned a few songs from that game
