Hello fromSouth Dakota!!
I just picket up a slingshot 3m trainer kite and am looking forward to getting into snowkiting. I live on a lake and spend most of the time on it
fishing in the winter but now am looking forward to kiting.. Fish dont alway bite!! I have also seen the you tube vids on the buggies on ice and snow
and that looks like a blast!!! I have a Iceboat but it always snows as soon as we get good ice making the boat useless. Buggies are expensive but seem
like a must have on a lake. Glad I found this site. Should come in handy for info...

Welcome. PKF is a great resource.
Skis are a blast on the ice. (Many feel it's best to use straight skis, not parabolic/shaped skis.) So are snow boards if that's your preference. I
got a buggy this year and look forward to trying it when the conditions are correct.
Tell us about your weight, average winds and a description of where you will fly and we can give you some direction re snow kites.

I Live in rapid city and have a small group that I kite with regularly. If you are in the area I can certainly add you to the email list. I got out on
the water for the last time this weekend, it is too cold for me. Soon enough the lakes will be frozen over and we will be snow kiting. Welcome to the
forum and Look me up if you are in the area and would like to get out to fly some kites.

eggy if your iceboat is an open #@%$#!pit with room to operate a kite you might be able to adapt short skis or snowboards to the blades. Depending on
where your center of pull ends up you may have something that works as well as any buggy setup.
Ram bang crashing over ice and snow is my specialty.

Welcome to the forum! "Buggies are expensive"?? Even the most expensive buggy I have seen is less than half the price of most good snowmobiles or
ATV's, and as someone here signature says "the fuel is free, and I don't have to change the oil!" J/K watch your wallet!

Glad to see some other SD guys here. I will need a lesson next summer for the water. I'm 6' 210lbs. I'll be giving this a whirl on a snowboard. I am
capable of snowboarding so hopefully that help the learning curve a bit. Your right about buggy's, there not to bad considering what it cost me to get
into windsurfing. The wife likes to see me sell a few toys before buying more toys. If was up to me we would live in a storage unit surrounded with
man toys!! Probably a good thing I have her!!lol!! I'll be looking you SD guys up and hopefully get a few lessons..

biggies are nice in the snow.... but regular barrow tires are fine for the field... the BF do add a kind of shock absorber if your field is bouncy...
but if you have stickers and thorny stuff.... no flats FTW!
