My backyard!

click
Not the greatest picture, but I took this backcountry skiing last winter. This place is just a lift ride and a road-side downhill away

Above the treeline it gets amazing for kite time.
If you look in the bottom right corner you can see the open glades that lead up to it.

It was hardcore wind-scoured that day(I think it was blowing 40/ gusting 50 on the ridge-tops), but we had a great time.
Once you get above the treeline it's just rolling basins. Pretty serious avalanche danger too.

I can't wait to test my mettle! Kiting is finally coming together after almost half a year and 1k american dollars.. Talk about dedication just to make it to the doorstep.

I found a better picture of the basin (of course not mine)

Middle Basin (adjacent to beehive)

Bear Basin (adjacent to middle)

Nice backyard dandre...your rockies are almost as pretty as the ones up here :smug:

Looks like you will have a fun winter...we can practically hear you salivating! Already got some avalanche training?
