More DIY gopro mounts...

A few ideas for GoPro mounts that only cost a few cents....

I really wanted an extendo pole but balked at the price. So I took an old worthless camera tripod to bits (might have been $5 at a market...) and used one of the legs. Seems to work really, really well! Drilled a 1/4" hole to accept the gopro camera adapter with a large round nut that might have been off a telescope to make it easy to tighten. Wrapped and glued a bit of leather for a handle and voila, one extendo pole...

Also, a piece of electrical plastic conduit with a bit of wood shoved in the end to hold a 1/4" bolt for a sand spike...

And 'floaty cam' !!

Hope to give the extendo pole and the sand spike a good workout next week at Speed Week.....

Nice one!

I was going to use a tripod leg too but thought they flexed too much with the weight of the camera on the end ... So for the ski season, I made one out of a car window washer thingy ... first version, I just used the GoPro small tube mount but I broke it when I fell over  Version 2 uses a regular base mount stuck onto an aluminum plate that's bolted onto the pole.

Version 3 will hopefully have a swivel from a clothes brush for instant change of angle :Ange09:

Yeah... I got a kite. Or two...

I should mention that to stow the extendo pole on the buggy, I've used some velcro Ozone kite killers to hold a short piece of pvc tubing to the side rail....just slide the pole in and out or tuck it under your leg if you need both hands for the kite....

And this is handy - it's the handle that came with my Fostex AR4i (an iPhone audio interface) which has a 1/4" protruding thread - the gopro screws right on....

Floaty-cam in action and what is probably the most stupid looking gopro mount I've ever seen. Makes my kayak look like a floating dunny......
