FS: Ocean Rodeo Rise 8m - SOLD

This kite is sold

I have an Ocean Rodeo Rise 8m kite in the closet that I've
never flown. It is a 2008 model year and I bought it used in the spring of 2009 with the aspirations of learning to kitesurf (it is being kept company by an unused wetsuit and brand new closeout Noble board....sad I know). Then I ended up buying a house, moving a little bit farther from the ocean and I barely get out to even fly my open cell kites these days.

I never put this kite in the air but did pump it fully after I bought it. If there is interest in the kite I will take it out and pump it up for pictures and to verify that it is airtight.

So I am posting to see if there is any interest in this kite. I believe that I paid $550 for this kite shipped. I know that tube kites do not hold their value and this has depreciated just sitting there in the closet. At this point I really don't have a feel for what value it has so this is currently listed for "best reasonable offer". And if there are no decent offers I will probably just hold onto it in the hope of eventually using it someday. Thank you.

Kite only or RTF Including a bar??

Hi

Are you selling the kite only or will it include bar/lines?

What color is the kite?

I am also interested in pics and a verification the bladders still hold air.

Regards

JD

Well it looks like there is a little bit of interest. So I will unroll the kite tomorrow and inflate it for pictures.

Also, I forgot several key pieces of info. This kite is orange, black, white. It has the original bag and comes RTF with bag and lines.

Okay, here are the pics. Sorry I took a bunch and don't feel like embedding them.

I did notice two small pinholes so I included pictures of both of them. I don't think these are anything that a little piece of sail tape wouldn't fix. The bladders are rock solid and its been holding air for several hours so I believe it is airtight with no small leaks at all.

I had forgotten what a nice kit OR puts together. I regret selling this kite without ever even flying it. Feels kind of dumb, but I think its best to get it out to a kiter who can put it to use.

Up for grabs.

Toby from Kiteforum was kind enough to post the 2008 OR Rise Manual here, in case there was interest in looking over the particulars of the kite or bar.

Thanks for the manual link.

I would love to get down to Nahant soon. It is just hard to find the time and mostly its hard to get the schedule/winds/tides and weather to corporate. I was going to head down a few weeks ago, but the low tide was at around noon so too few rideable hours to make the trip. But I really do plan to get down there someday....could be spring at this point...brrr.

Hey Adam,
Kite is something I may be interested in but not till after Christmas, and I have to buy or build a buggy for my wife as she hurt her knee, but keep me in mind if you dont sell it. I would still like to get together to kite, coast of maine, or frozen lakes. Just let me know.

U2U replied. I might have a PDF of that manual, but it is on my old laptop if I have it. I'll search for it if I have a chance later.

I have the same 08' SLE bar. It is a good long throw bar with under the bar depower. The chicken loop release is very simple but works well as a push away style. It should come with kook proof extensions on the back lines.
