New fork and fender for BW buggy

I figure I need something to go along with the new sexy rails so I made a new fork. And of course that means you have to make new fenders and side plates to go with it.

Orange fenders and Pink side plates are special order items for Dino and Ricardo.

My wife is out of the country right now so can't complain. My wife is the best though. She hasn't kick me out yet.

Cheezy, that's a new fork that has a little bit of my original design with a new flare to it. I think my old design goes better with the new curved rails.

My scrap buggy is one of a kind and will most likely remain as stock. It might be worth millions one day when I become famous...hahaha

Nice work guys, but I gotta ask... buggies in the house? I'd be grounded!

Anybody happen to have a template or suggestions for a fender for a stock PL XR+? I've stitched an imitation of the PL splash guard, but a solid fender would be nice. (It'll be the next project... first I have to cut a couple of bolts off:-)

Go ahead... tell me to "go fly a kite!" Please!

So I would like to use plastic for my fender and fabricate one more....I've been told that garbage can plastic is what to use...Where can you easily purchase that in sheet form? or do you go out and buy a new rubbermaid can and hack it up?

Put a couple pictures up under my post "fender" (well I didn't post pictures I'm computer illiterate) Take a look. Another problem to factor in, is there isn't a way to attach fender so easily on stock flexi fork. Unless I have someone weld that small triangle on with the holes in it to attach to. I used some type of U bolt. I also saw a clip that would hold electrical pipe to a wall??

Thanks for the inspiration Van!

Yes,
If you have a bent bike shop near you it would be worth a visit. Lots of ol MX and ATV fenders can be refit.

BigKid made a similar fender for the Ivanpah. Functional but not exactly sleek. Yours looks a little more finished Van !

Looks good Jeff!! So far I've only made a few for my own buggies. They are custom made for each fork so it's hard to make one unless I have the fork in front of me.

I start by taping a piece of cardboard on the fork and then start bending and cutting until I get one side right. Take it back out, fold in half and cut the other side. Then trace it on polypropylene plastic and cut it out.

Tee Hee !

Sorry Jeff ! I wasn't knocking the fender. It's not so bad. For what it's worth I think my PL " skirt " on Frankin'buggy is F'ugly and not too functional. Looks better than that !

I have made a bunch of those type of fenders. I have used up 2 4x8 sheets of the stuff Went around this year at NABX and gave one to all the Ivanpah buggy owners I ran into, wonder what happened to them. The easiest way to fasten the plastic fenders is with zip-ties. No need for welding and all that stuff. Don't like the way it looks? Trim it and pop in a few holes and a couple of zip-ties and your good to go.
