I have a brand new EH Orvando 7m that I bought for my wife and has never been used. (I have a 9m for high wind for myself) Trade includes the kite, 45
cm bar, lines and bag and shipping. It was inflated, inspected and then packed back up.
I would like a larger foil kite for winter kiting. Anything larger than 12 m is ok such as a Peter Lynn or Montana.
It is a brand new 7 meter 2011 EH Ovando kite (made late 2010 for 2011 year). Comes complete with bar and bag. This is a rare and amazing kite with
extremely good upwind performance. Notes from EH's website: The Ovando does not behave like any kite you have ever tried, it has a extremely efficient
airfoil and truly combines the C shape turning speed with the power of a Ultra Flat. This kite mimic’s a real wing and it fly’s stable and is easily
water re launchable. It has a deep efficient profile to get maximum lift at low wind speeds. Most its usable surface is generating lift. The tips on
the Ovando are purposely kept small, thin and low drag. The surface is just large enough to stabilize the kite in flight, turn it and help it re
launch from the water. The kite is to be able to achieve smooth power control with a short de power travel. The Ovando de-power is very good but do
not expect bow type de power. It's short 25 cm de power travel 25 cm allows you to ride with a more natural body position and gives you full control
over the kite's power all within arms reach.
I need some help here folks. It appears the Scorpion is a twin foil kite and needs to be blown up?
While I see the advantage of this if you used the twin foil on the water - it would float, I also see this as a potential PITA on the snow when it is
below zero and blowing. What about snow getting inside the two foils? What is the power range of this 13m Scorpion? I also like the idea of it just
sitting at 12 o'clock when eating lunch. Does it take hits on the ice if I fall or is a Montana or Frenzy the way to go? I am also a large guy e.g.
130 kg
Any feedback would be appreciated.
The Scorpion is an arc, closed cell foil, high aspect, high lift, works great on water, snow and land. I use it for snowkiting and atb. It is very
smooth and easy to fly but does take at least 15mph at the bottom end. You do need to pre inflate the kite but not with a pump, it inflates itself.
Montanas and Frenzies don't compare as they are a different breed , the arcs are more c-kite like, much smoother power but not as much power size for
size, for a big guy this kite would be a good high wind weapon. Did I mention the kite is pristine and Beamer Bob has the perfect bar for this kite
If you come out this winter over to Luther Marsh (just past Orangeville) we use a lot of Peter Lynn Twinskins in the winter. If you are sticking to
Kampenfelt Bay or down to Keswick you won't see any arcs there, a few at keswick. You'll see more Frenzy's etc of the open cell de-power foils. I love
my twinskins in the winter, extremely versatile but I would caution that you should come out and get some experience on setting up and flying this
style of kite as you are coming off only LEI and the Hydra experience. I have my 16 and 10 Scorpion I still use and there are a few 13's in the area -
the Scorpions can be twitchy at times launching in our crap winter gusty conditions so experience will help smooth the learning curve.

Great ARC video! It is cool seeing the Charger, Synergy, and Venom in the same video flying next to each other. It gives a good sense of their
different proportions and flying.
Thanks for all the input so far.
After reading all forum on the arc kites and models i have decided now what it is i am looking for.
I want a kite that does the auto zenith. The kite must be from 15 m to 19 m and include a bar.
The later 15m Chargers to the older Venom II I think is the target.
I want this kite for primarily snow kiting but also can use it on the water.
I need to haul my 130 kg (285 lbs) across the ice.:eureka:
Hey, I'm not looking to trade, but I do have a 19m Venom II posted for sale if you're interested. I already sold the bar, but if you can track one
down maybe this would be an option for you. Here's the post if you want to check it out...
