As far as I know we are still planning to head up. And may be dragging a couple friends with high end ice boats.

Momma made plans for us all to be in Florida the week leading up to KS, of course it all hinged on me driving , put WISSA out of the picture and KS
would have been a real effort.
I'm out. I would
love to see some type of gathering near Albany NY/western Mass. , seems that area would be pretty central to most of the KS participants though the
Canadian crew would have to travel farther. Saratoga lake? , maybe 1st w/e in March?

I'm definitely down for a snowkiting trip up North if there's gonna be a gathering. Up in Canada the wind has been a bust all week. I got one
sketchy afternoon in where I was able to get about 4 "runs" in with the kite pulling nicely- the rest of the time was a fight to keep it airborne.
Even so it was lots of fun and I can't wait to get another crack at it!

I heard Jan was out riding on Friday, but it warmed up in the afternoon, and was warm today too so a lot melted. Sunday is forecast for wind from the
SSE at 20-30! so I might get a buggy day in at Duflo's runway! But then it is supposed to cool off again, with wind from the West on Monday at 25-35,
which is supposed to produce near a foot of fresh snow on the hill, and should stay cold, so the Tug Hill area should start to produce some great
sessions, so don't rule this area out! Will post more as conditions progress, in the Tug Hill thread.

A new event?
Maybe a little closer location may be better...But that's still an okay location, I suppose, with available lodging not far.
Also, a 'Frozen Flying Freak Festival' inaugural may happen somewhere once some real freezing sets in......but may happen on short notice.
More than a few folks want a winter gathering...and I'm definitely up for a little road trip and big fun. All ideas and place suggestions
welcome....as I have some of my own.
Curious. What do you use to ride on for snow and ice surface, Cheezy?
I know Dave won those blades for his buggy and will be using those!
Things only beginning to solidify up North...with SOME frozen bodies of water central and more farther north.
This has been some near record warmth last few months.

Clear your calender , there will be an power kite gathering in Saratoga Springs ,NY February 18 and 19. I have been in contact with Heather at The
Saratoga Convention and Tourism Bureau and she is in contact with the Polo club to see if we can use that site in addition to the primary location at
the northend of Saratoga lake. If anyone has connections to the Polo club please put in a good word for kiting there. Also Skidmore College has their
rowing equipment at the Saratoga Rowing assoc. location and it would be nice to have their approval to park and launch there. I have a name and # but
have not made a call yet, anyone with a connection please put in a good word. The north end has other launch sites and parking , so access is not a
problem. Some of the crews at Tug Hill were aware allready but I told Saratoga I would wait untill today to put it on the forums. Book rooms ASAP
because they have a big todo that weekend called "Dance Flurry" check Discoversaratoga.com for more information. Spread the word to your favorite
kite stores it would be nice to give everyone a chance to show there stuff. I'll post more details as I get them.
