I am selling a 13m venom kite is in really good shape did have a blown cell that was fixed by fix my kite. If i didnt tell you, you would not be able
to tell it was repaired. Asking $200 (SOLD) ko will try to post pics or some goof style kiteporn this evening
thanks
scott
Hey- I may be interested in this kite. I've not flown PL arcs at all- my experience is limited to tubes and foils.
I have a 10m Argo- would this kite be a lighter wind kite or would it overlap too much with my Argo? I'm 150lbs- what kind of winds would I be able
to fly in with this kite?
Also- do I need a special bar to fly this kite or would any 4 line bar work (like the bar for my Argo)?
Thanks.

Sugar bowl distracted me last night as my hokies lost- will get pics tonight only reason i am selling is i bought chuds Venom II 13m, since the V II
is what i am usually flying wanted the same kite design- not sure it made that much difference other than in my head
Scott
Argo...........nice rig........couple locals fly those and are usually out early 12/13mph winds at about your weight..........yes you can use your
Argo bar............make sure your active stopper ball gives about 15 to 17 inches of throw and your off...................yes overlap but youll have
a blast on the Venom and if you dont like it resale is automatic here on PKF.................
I have a 2010 53cm Griffin bar that I use to fly arcs with. The center safety does not flag the arc out properly. If you have the same bar I do
you can attach the leash to the oh sh** ring on one of the TE lines and that will work to flag out the kite properly should you need to pop the
safety.......
The center line safety on the 2010 Griffin bar will not completely depower an arc and it can power back up and you will have a nasty uncontrollable
kite on your hands.
Also the Griffin bar has a lot of depow range.
On some of my arcs I needed to make some pigtails to compensate for that. No biggy but so you know.....
Couple of things i noticed when taking pics that i had not before. Both Spar pockets have been repaired by the previous owner and i had never noticed
before. Zipper work well and are in good shape. lastily the "square" repair you see on the back is the blown cell i had repaired by fixmykite. they
went in and replaced/repaired the cell on the inside and the kite has been flown 2 times since repair and looks and feels great. When i get the vid
up you will be able to hear how crinkly the fabric is. Kite does have the original spars which are the stiffer fiberglass ones and they are fine

Thanks for the Argo props TriDude- I do love that kite. Do you think I'd be able to get going on the Venom earlier than my Argo- or just a different
type of ride?
g00fba11, I certainly don't want an out of control kite. What's a TE line (the one you say to hook the safety to? Is that one of the rear steering
lines of the kite? If I hook the safety to an outside line, will it get tangles when I spin the bar?
Would I be better off flying this kite on the bar for my Montana V since that is a foil kite? The "top hat" safety on the Montana adds a couple
meters of length to the front lines, effectively stalling the kite out on the rear lines. I would certainly want to make sure I have a good safety
option while flying.

video added, not goof quality and really should of had my wife (a beautiful woman) display it but instead you get my fat arse. any questions let me
know
Scott
Mike,
TE is one of the steering/brake lines. I do not know about the ergo bar but think it would work better than the montana bar due to the safety. As
for twisting it can happen when you spin the bar if you hook to the outside lines. As for comparing it to your argo - have to rely on tridudes input
for that

What is the safety like for one of these kites on a Peter Lynn bar? Does it flag out to one of the front or back lines, or is it something more
involved than that?
Would flagging out to both rear lines (as my Montana bar does) be a safe option for this kite, or does the closed cell nature of the kite make that a
bad idea?
Are these meant to be flown on a 5th line? I have an older North bar with a 5th element line I could maybe re-purpose for this kite?

Sorry Mike, as for flagging out an arc, it has to be to one line, can be either a front or back line. i have one bar that flags on front and one that
flags on back
Scott
Thanks Martin- now I see that there is some sort of sliding ring at the end of the safety leash, so I guess it flags out to only one front line?
If that is correct (i.e. that a flag out to 1 front line is a safe way to put this kite on safety) then my Argo bar should work I think. The Argo bar
comes from the factory set up to flag to both front lines when safety is popped, but there is an adjustment where you can set it to flag out to just
one front line.
If I did that would I be able to fly an arc like this safely?

Tanks Scott- no worries. Learned a bunch thinking about this kite. I think I might want a larger arc anyway to avoid too much overlap with my Argo
10m?
Seems like I'm never done shopping since I got into kiting

In the video with the OR bar I connect the leash to only one of the front lines which OR calls the "re-ride" safety. Normally the safety on that bar,
when I use for the Rise, I hook the leash to the depower line which is safety on both front lines - typical of LEI kites.
The North bar will work if you have the safety go to one of the front lines with a mini 5th if it goes outside the hole in the bar. If you want it to
go through the hole in the bar you need to make sure the difference between the lines will allow full flag-out of the length of the ARC. So the
connection point to the front line will need to be several meters from the bar to allow the bar to travel. I just have the leash outside the bar
hole.

Id say just a tad earlier on your Argo...............the 13m V is a great kite...............Ive had forum member Kitedogs 13m V2 out in 25 mph plus
and had a blast................depending on your avg winds you may want to go with a 12m Syn/Charger for those 18-30 mph days. Problem is the huge
range on your Argo.........................If your handy with a needle and sewing machine there's a 13m on the Flea (going cheap)that needs a couple
zips replaced. I replaced the deflate zipper on my Venom and flew great.......................If not send it off to Powerzone for
repair.........................
