So when is the phanny2?

Looks like word is certain that the phanny2 will be released soon? Is there a thread I missed? Did mj alude to it somewhere? Official PL word somewhere? Could I be flying a new 6m at nabx 2012?

Last I heard, release was set for Feb. 2012
...witness the Phannys popping up for sale here, including some from those who are more "in the know..." than bottom-feeders such as moi.

I've had quite a bit of info trickle in from official and unofficial sources that are definitely "in the know" and to my knowledge there hasn't been a crate of them shipped in, no inventory, none available for dealers to order. There is reasonable hope that team riders might have them for nabx but that isn't definite and they might not come from the usual MFG path. So unless the best info isn't being shared with me, I'd figure on April at the earliest to be able to place an order for one or a set. Just my best guess.

Im keeping my 19charger, but I think ill pick up a 15 phanny to switch for my 12 charger sunce it rarely gets used. I have to talk to the marketing guy thursday morning and ill let you guys know what I can, or what theyll let me tell.

The Ph2's are comming. They are still working out some final details and though I whine endlessly about the time it is taking I'm sure in the end the results will be worth the wait.

I am currently flying a new quiver of them and they are much refined from the prototypes I've been flying the last 2 seasons. I am not authorized at this time to share any specific details in regard to construction, sizing, or tech specs but I can say that they look awesome and they fly better than they look. :ninja:

Monday I had the 15m in 27mph winds gusting over 31mph on hard ice. I say over 31mph becuase the 27-31 was measured in a lull when I could actually hold position to get a wind meter reading. It was not easy but it was manageable.

I have a lot of footage of the new one's in action and hopefully soon I will be allowed to release some of it.

I've been flying in some very public places and I know A LOT of photos have been taken of the kites by people (non-kiters) passing through and there may or may not be images of the new kites online. If you're really good at the interwebs I would not doubt that you could find some.

I however am not at liberty at this time to help with that. Sorry.:dunno:

On a side note, the protos, as nice as they fly, are very clunky looking in comparison to the "finished" wings that I'm on now.

BTW bear in mind that the results I'm getting with these wings is on bare ice with skis. A buggy on sand or playa dirt or someone on a ATB may not get the same wind range due to inabilty to fight the side loads. But it doesn't mean that you won't get a huge wind range just the same.

When I was on my 15m I was riding with a guy @200# riding a 5m Frenzy going 51mph. I bagged 64mph on the 15m. And at full depow I was able to put it directly in the window in those winds. It wasn't easy but I could do it.
