Nevermind.... Dont need a loaner anymore
like kiting itself, if you dont take a chance, nothing great will even have a chance to happen... Pulled the trigger on a big blue :D
Ok, i got a chance to try a charger 19m last year, and had issues with it... it was a repaired model. Which has always made me question whether it was
repairs that caused my issues, or if it were my arc handling abilities, or maybe the strange Nebraska weather. The thing is, i wanted to like it! It
relaunched easily, filled easily, and flew like a dream (right before it taco'd) I REALLY liked it.... i just couldnt keep the one i had based on the
way it flew for me
I was wondering if anyone could pass/rent me a charger 19, that is known to work well, for a couple weeks... That way i know i have a working kite to
start with, then i can correctly evaluate my abilities and my conditions and see finally if this kite is for me.
Im holding off on the LEIs for a minute to see if this works... i already have a Nav Bar and lineset, so a charger would save me a few bucks over a
new LEI complete set up. I would hate to order an LEI, and have the Nebraska chop render it useless... i know my phanny does great with the gusts,
but i fear with its age, it may not hold up in the lakes too well. I know the charger re-launches really well... i just need to know if it flies well
here
So i respectfully request a pass or rental of a Charger 19 KO... u2u me if interested
(or if someone has a better idea let me know... id just buy a new one, but i dont want to inconvenience a vendor with a kite i cant fly, and i dont
want to lose my a$$ on a new kite i hafta sell at a loss)
Thanks for the read!

Drew, be sure that the line set you have is exactly what you need for a 19m. Leojim has a navigator bar for his 8m Charger and tried to use it for
his 18m phantom. Serious fail. There was too much tension at the Y for the kite to stay open. We changed it to a regular bar and lines and it flew
fine. It was very frustrating until we figured it out. You probably already considered this but I thought I would check.

I don't like the Y even in the right size but that combo would squeeze the 18 Phanny into taco position.

Dont suppose any vendors have an unwrapped 19 (or 15 I guess) on the shelf I could take a stab at?
try-to-buy situation here lol
Id just buy one, but that pain in my ankle from getting yarded by an opening taco, just keeps me from doing it....... Hmmm.....
Tl;dr

Phree,
It was the front line mod, i think the same you are refering to. I have flown it once and had no issues with clapping on a 07 bar but was also on the
beach in cleaner winds. Mod is in place but did not use it at all when i flew. I may be down in your neck of the woods soon with it as well.

Phree, if I have it by then of course you are welcome to it. You're family! It would have to be very light winds to launch it for a buggy ride on
the playa so you won't be keeping it from me by riding it.

thats just it.... adam flew the kite at jibe with the same set up as me... with the nav bar... and really had no issues, he said a few times after a
jump it wanted to stall a little, but a quick center line tug and it was off...
i honestly think my gusts would push just enough air out of the kite to destabilize it enough to clap it in a redirect/sharp turn
