I plan to go the 24-26th. I need to book the motel still but I have the days off from work. I have tried to get a couple local guys to go but have no firm commitments yet.

I got this email from the organizers today :puzzled:

KITE SOLDIERS 2012 UPDATE...
After deliberations and work with the town of Fairfield, unfortunately due to timing and logistics, we will not be holding Kite Soldiers 2012 in a formal way.
We will be in Idaho snowkiting during the weekend of February 25th and/or the weekend of March 3rd depending on conditions, so come kite with us.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. If you’ve made plans, we encourage you to keep them. Idaho snowkiting is epic! You don’t want to miss it!
LOOK FOR US IN 2013 BECAUSE WE ASSURE YOU WE WILL BE BACK AND WILL CONTINUE TO FLY THE SOLDIER FLAG!! www.snowkiteevent.com
Good winds!
Trisha & Monty

I think I'll save the 14 hour drive each way until next year.

I didn't book anything yet. I talked to my buddy that was thinking about going with me and he is out. I guess I will try again next year. This make the 3rd time I planned on going and didn't make it.

I use to live up there. I didn't know about snowkiteing then so I never went. I use to ice fish at Little Camas Reservoir. Knowing what I know now I lived in prime snowkiteing area.

That sucks. The last couple years have been great. Oh well... I'll still be out there as much as I can anyway.
