Modded Hydra
Anyone have an opinion on how easy it would be to mod a Hydra 300 to fly on handles? Partially curiosity and partially to make it easier to travel
with.
The 3rd line has 5 lines attached to it (see pic): one on each tip, one halfway to center on each side, and one in the middle.
I'm thinking I should be able to take the end and halfway bridle lines and connect them to the rear line on each side of a 4-line setup. Would
probably have to shorten somewhat since they're no longer traveling to the center and then down.
Not totally sure what to do with the center line, but maybe run a leader line to each of the rear lines from it, so you'd get some input from either
or both handles? Or maybe I could just leave unattached, as the 3rd line is fairly slack while flying anyway.
What do people think? Crazy? Genius? Yawn?

My guess is either lose the center or make it a double so that both sides connect to it. Depends on which way works better. It will probably work
but I don't know how well and how useful it would be.

Powerzone Kitesports Mods the Hydra
Hi
Powerzone Kitesports does a depower mod on the Hydra 300/350. It operates off a modified bar as they sell it, but if you give them a call, I'm sure
they could let you know if it would work for handles as well. Info on their version can be found at:
http://www.powerzonekitesports.com/home/?p=341
They will also perform the mod on a customer's existing kite. I'm really considering getting their depower version of the 350 as a trainer, and if I
do, I'll post a review after a have a few sessions.
Hope this helps.

I have a 300 modded and it turned out really nice. I used mine last month for some snowkiting on a high wind day. Check out the pic of the boy
flying on his site, he is my son
