Lake Havasu, AZ... Anything I should know???
Thought about posting this in Land Issues... but this is more of a general request.
I'm headed to Lake Havasu, AZ next week (Feb 25, 2012) for a Jet Ski Race my brother in law is in and was hoping to bring some of my kites along for
fun. We will be there a week .
Never been to Lake Havasu before and was just wondering if there are any issues with kites in either Arizone or more specifically Lake Havasu.
I looked online (and searched the forum) and cant seem to find anything specific.
Not looking to do anything major, just fly some Rev's and skudding with some Blade's on the shore (unless the shore is like Colorado Lakes (.i.e all
rocky)
I dont want to piss off the local kiters as this is their territory so any information that could be shared would be greatly appriciated.

Head north a bit to Lake Mojave. There is a regular kite scene at Telephone cove I believe but the launch is very advanced. I have only been there
in the late spring and summer months and it is very thermic wind. I never got a kite out cause I wasn't comfortable with the conditions.

Sorry I'm no help with kiting around Lake Havasu, but I know it's jetski heaven. I'd be on the water for sure, maybe kiteboarding? :wee:
Raced there in the 1991 IJSBA World Finals in EXpert Mod and Ltd. Standup. Great starts but got eatin by the log jumps. We didn't race with jumps on
the East.
Good luck. What's your BIL racing?

dman/Jaymz thanks for the response.
He is in the Open Class number 111. His name is John Karle its been a few years since he raced. I know back in the late 90's he used to race with
ISJBA.
I'm not much of a Jet Skier and dont have the right kiting equipment to get on the water... Maybe next time though.
