Need to talk to distributors
I'm trying to arrange for local ski/outdoor rec shops to carry kite products and a few mountain boards.
Maryland winters are very tempestuous at best, and I feel this can increase their revenue and grow the sport in many new ways.
I've spoken with a few owners, and they seem excited about the prospect, but I don't know where to go from here.
I want them to profit from carrying kites, so I feel a direct communication between them and distributors is very important.
Mostly it would be some trainers, and a couple intermediate models.
Can someone help me with contact information so I can pass along accurate information? I know some kite companies are careful in who they supply, but
these are storefront model businesses.
Any information is greatly appreciated

much more important than a store front is a knowledgeable staff on what they are selling. If you get a store with kites hanging on the wall, but do
not know what they are can be very dangerous for the customer. If your selling Dora the explorer kites this is ok, but any power kite can be dangerous
no matter how small. Knowledgeable staff should be #1 concern.

I appreciate that input. I didn't think of liability/training staff.
I had thought about seminars for customers, but I think I can integrate that idea for staff training as well.
May I email you sometime with some questions?

100% agree Dino! I would be willing to make a trip out and talk to any of them and teach them how to use the products, if they were interested in this
sport! Being MD is right in out my back door, I could make a weekend of it if needed.

I'd be willing to help you make the sale if I could be privy to process and pick your brain about the business end of recreation.
I'll contact you tomorrow.

guys I just started a new job so if I don't get back to you right away please forgive me.
I'm working on a recreation consultation company, and the logistics for implementing kites alone is killing me.
It's just a lot of mulling over crappy ideas for one nugget of something truly worth while.
Thanks for reaching out though.
I will be in contact once I work out a few more details.
Alot of kite retailers seem to be enthusiasts, so I'm trying to find a way romanticize these slightly interested buisness owners and bring them into
the fold. Of course when it comes down to it, it will always be about the bottom line and bringing people into the store. So it has to be fiscally
appealing as well.
Mountainboards could be really hot around here. And there's potential to develop that market.
