I saw some photos on line and heard that for the first days it was very light wind, and the what there was wasn't that good in the smaller lake so a
handful of racers using either the ELF kites or big Flysurfers dominated. I guess if you could keep a kite in the air the race was a go - everyone
outside of having those kites were skate skiing the course or walking back. The results so far are posted on line too.

No freakin wind. I'm trying to be dilpomatic about things so I'll leave it at that.
On the up side there are a lot of really nice people here from all over and I've been out on Lake Michigan a little and it was worth the trip to meet
some new faces and ride a Great Lake.

Totally an Elf/ Flysurfer Speed 3 fest. 16m Elfs and 19-21 m speeds. Normand is a damn machine.
The wind here has been non-existent. Horrible racing conditions for non pure bred race rigs. Rode the 24m Phantom 2 today and was at least to finish
my laps in a reasonable amount of time. It was like I was in a different race. I was fine in the crosswind but not even close on the downwinds and
up winds.
The winds picked up after our last race today. Figures.
Ripped around after the race and had he most fun I've had since Saturday. Not counting riding on Michigan.

I'd seen the results so far on the wissa site. After reading some of the accounts of the kitewing guys skate skiing ( on a yahoo kitewing group)
just in order to finish - the reality of the wind conditions were made apparent, just wanted to hear from folks that were in the thick of things. I
don't think Chris packed any big ass Vapors...

Yeah, the sledge and kitewing riders really got boned at this event. Those guys need a lot more wind than kites do.
I rode the 24m Phantom 2 yesterday and was pretty well powered and had a good time out ont he course.
No PW, I didn't pack any Vapors, big ass or otherwise. The BS wind reports the event organizer and the wind history for the area made it out to be a
prime place to race an Arc. But the winds took a vacation up to New England as far as I can tell. The wife keeps telling me she's been having one
epic day after another.
No racing today and the wind's supposed to nuke. Figures.
Gonna rip on Lake Michigan today if the direction is good.:bouncing:
